I'd already posted our 41 years and you got me thinking, yep, 48 years together. Smile

I always respected my grandparents because they had 81 years together. The governor of Missouri sent them a certificate on their 75th, had it delivered by courier.

35 years just a couple weeks ago. Not 40 I guess but felt like bragging anyway.

Our 51st anniversary was in June. Starting in June 2019 we began what I thought was going to be a series of trips to places in the world that had been milestones for us in our marriage; we got to Israel with dear friends as tour leaders; to Tasmania to visit old friends from our med/grad school days, then New Zealand just because. Wanted to go to Switzerland which we visited just after we got engaged (in the old castle in Heidelberg); were hoping to get back to Novosibirsk, Siberia where we lived for a year and still have dear friends.
Anyway we got as far as New Zealand, and returned from there January 31, bringing the pandemic with us, it seems.

The hardest part of this year has been not being able to visit dear old friends.

HJrocket: you win every prize there will ever be on SigForum; not just because of your 71 year marriage, but because of your incredible story of meeting veterans of the Battle of Gettysburg. What a life!

Sept 18th will be 49 years -- continuous years. She is my only reason for living.
