I've decided it's time to add a gun safe/locker to my pickup truck. Just starting to check these out, so I was hoping some of ya would chime in with what's worked well for you. Which model, what location within the cab of the truck (which is what I'm looking for, as opposed to a bed mounted unit).

I have a LOCK'ER DOWN console safe in my Tundra.
I recommend the electronic lock, they now come with a metal case.
I can put the code in and open it without looking at it.
I put my own magnets in it.
I love it..

Out of sight is the best I can do... but you know back in the 60's and 70's we just hung long guns in the back window and put handguns under the seat.......

Check out consolevault.com they have modular system for nearly every vehicle. If you call the company directly, they usually give a better deal.

I had a Marlin .22 rifle and a 12 GA pump shotgun in a gun rack in the rear window of my 1978 Chevy Scottsdale step side.
And that was in my high school parking lot. Eek
Man, how things have changed...

What model is your truck? Do you want long gun or just handgun storage? I have a Tuffy underseat box for a F150. It will hold carbine length Rifles, could fit about 2.

Downside, its not something you can access from the front seat, or "on the move." On the positive side, its not coming out easily.

Thumbs up to Console Vault as well. Have had one in my truck for last five years or so. Never worried about guns or money being left in there if the need was there.

I also have the console vault (gunsafes.com) in my 2010 Suburban. Good device.

Prior to purchasing, you may want to take the time to either google or youtube your final choice.

there are more than a few video's and descriptions of how to defeat many of the gun lockers, in a matter of a minute or three

That can get uncomfortable after a while. And it tends to ruin my leather seats.

I circled back on this thread intent on ordering and found that the 4 digit lock is a free upgrade this week with free Fedex ground. An even easier decision!

I have a Console Vault installed in my 4Runner that I a very happy with. Form, fit and funtion all top notch.

I upgraded to the four number lock. I leave the combo locked but off-set by one number on each of the dials, the same pattern each time, and by feel only I can open the lock by rotating each of the dials one click in the correct direction.

I got a console vault too. I bought some of this stuff off amazon and lined the inside of mines to keep things from from bouncing around and making noise. https://www.amazon.com/36-ROLL...ntless/dp/B007NZFROY
