A neighbor ,here in tiny town has had one for 8 months and likes it a lot , He works at home but says it does everything he needs. It does attract narrow minded mostly back woods hick type hate though. I witnessed it first hand. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. My garbageman bought a "Cyberbeast", says the acceleration is truely insane. What other vehical will get you 0-60 times of under 3 seconds for @$100,000? Thing is a sports car that can also haul your washing machine. (Tesla claims a 60-mph time of 2.6 seconds in "Beast" mode for the top Cyberbeast model and a quarter-mile time of under 11.0 seconds). My brother has a model Y, and he's repeatly used it to haul over 4,000 # of construction crap to the dump. Actual scale weight max was 4700 I believe. (Tesla rates it at 3500 # max for towing although your range will suffer if you are thinking of using it to tow a RV type trailer for camping). As an aside, almost all EV's also have insane depreciation, so if you want one, buying used is the way to go. (My real name's Bill. I was feeling paranoid when I signed up:-)

Question: what's the range on a full charge? If one had a portable gas generator, how much gas would it take to fully recharge the battery from 20%? It varies with your configuatrion. I believe 440 was the most they promised, so deduct @10# due to elon boasting and real world conditions. 320 miles currently for standard config. Going 80 mph will get you much less, going 40mph much more. Can't answer the gas recharge question. Way to long. At 110v they charge at about 4-5 mph. You'd be better off just plugging into a 110v outlet if that's all you had access to. Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat.

Haha. That’s funny. I was just curious above where today, if you have, say a T4R off road, you can bring gas cans to extend travel distance. How much gas would you have to bring to get equivalent miles from the CT with a portable generator? "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." The guy I know who has one told me that it's like 3.8-4 seconds to go 0-60 and you can easily lose control of the car if you aren't really focusing, it's that powerful. They just look so ridiculous and awkward to me, you could not pay me to get in one of those ugly things. Like I stated before I'm half convinced this was an elaborate joke by Elon Musk to attract and poke fun at douchey, attention-seeking narcissistic people.

The cybertruck has a 123 kWh battery. A 5kW generator would likely take ~20 hours to charge from 20%, and possibly more because of any conversions necessary to get the power from the generator to the truck. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Except that is breaks when you try to do truck stuff with it. The stainless steel panels have literally fallen off in car washes. The thing is a big POS. It’s not a truck. It’s just another Tesla they tried to market as a truck. Bad blind spots. And the Beast trim, dropped 30% in depreciation in the first 12 months. I wouldn’t go near one. It’s a gimmick and a colossal sales failure. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

The guys at TFL made it a whopping 85 miles in a Cybertruck towing a 28 foot toy hauler. Video starts t 18:20 where they talk about range.

I think they are ugly as crap, but I'd like one especially the Cyberbeast model but at $114,000 it's nuts! Base model $79,990 Probably opt for a GMC or Chevrolet EV Pickup over it for looks, but there is no argument that Teslas EV software is light years beyond GM, Ford et all. I don't haul stuff so towing distance, don't care about, what I like is 0-6- in 2.9 seconds, 128 MPH top end, mind boggling performance.... and I don't have to drop $3 a gallon for fuel in a 15 mpg truck...

Im the opposite, i dont give a crap about any of that. I haul a 43' 18k camper loaded with motorcycles into the back mountains of colorado. I have a 55 gallon tank that can go 500 miles when the mpg goes down to 10mpg. And can do that load safely up and down 6-10 percent grades. The tech is very cool, but as a truck, it's the worst, for me. It cant do anything i need a truck to do, and the things it CAN do, it does poorly. Its just a fancy EV on a truck frame. Gonna be a no from me, dog. _____________________________________ "We must not allow a mine shaft gap."

Definitely wouldn't go EV for towing anything serious. For an everyday driver, if I were required to pick an EV tuck, I'd opt for the Rivian, think it looks 1000% better than the Tesla or GM options. F150 Lightning looks 95% like a regular F150 More my speed would be the Slate, still a truck, but small for my single occupant commute. The Enemy's gate is down.
