Why? Serious question. What am I missing? Recently I drove up to Waycross GA and picked up a washing machine in my pick up and brought it home. I could have done the trip in my wife's Nissan Rogue. Could I have done it in a Cybertruck? Can they tow my boat?
I see them on the roads but can’t figure out why.

I don't have one but one of my friends does and he loves it. He started off with a Model Y and traded up last year.
Personally, I think it's one of the UGLIEST vehicles on the road.

I know one person who owns one and he’s a very douchey type guy which doesn’t surprise me one bit. They’re douchey vehicles for douchey people and I’m still not convinced it’s all not some elaborate joke by Elon for the sheer fun of it.
They’re THE most awkward just half-baked looking things ever to me.

Webz: cybertruck demographics are affluent, middle aged, left leaning men who want a status symbol.

Weird looking truck for sure and and not really a truck in my opinion but to each his own.

I wouldn't buy one, but with 2,500 pounds capacity, and an 11,000 pound tow spec, it seems quite capable. And, as I understand it, it has some degree of bullet resistance with the stainless sheet metal.

I doubt the politic leanings of that statement are accurate anymore (if they ever were), and the rest probably describes most ANY new truck.

Well, perhaps on average, but I have a new truck and I'm definitely NOT affluent...any more. Not that I ever was by any reasonable standard.

My former boss has one and loves it, not really sure if he ever hauls much. There seems to be a lot of Teslas in the greater Houston area than there is in other places I have been recently. On my trip to Kansas City I do not recall seeing many Teslas. I see them every day where i live.
I know a guy who bought a model 3 and puts 10k miles a month on it. He got a Cybertruck as a loaner and said he loved the thing (he said it was the nicest thing he has ever driven) but it was too expensive.
I do think their ugliness is world class and I cannot understand why they would not make it look better. It looks like a pine derby car designed by a grade schooler.

The stainless is a proprietary grade that Spacex developed. Its called ultra hard 30x and is about 4 times harder than the stainless Delorean used. It can't be stamped so it has to be bent using a custom Air supported press brake. It can only be bent one large radius crease at a time, thats the reason it is the shape it is. Half the people love it and half will hate it but the doors are bulletproof up to 45 acp. I really like them but they are $80-100,000 trucks and i couldn't bring myself to spend that much on transportation.

Apologies for a slight thread drift I do not own one but certainly would if I could afford it! The Clint Eastwood movie { The Good The Bad The Ugly } always comes to mind when I see a Tesla Cybertruck !

Side note: That dude has a fun channel to watch and he appears to be an overall pretty good dude. I look forward to his updates; it’s pretty amazing what a .22 can penetrate and I’m sometimes surprised what a 50-cal cannot.

Honestly if I was gonna get a $80K or higher electric Truck. I'd probably get a Rivian.
I like the tech packed in it. It's got lots of neat stuff. But good gawd is it ugly. But also with the talk of status symbols. Around here there's tons of super expensive trucks that have never done a single day of truck things.
