My 40 in wide electric range is on its last legs. I can't deviate from this width since the marble countertop is alredy cut to fit it. I'm not seeing any, particularly in the big box stores. My guess is it would be a special order item if it exists at all. If it doesn't exist, could I rebuild the one I have with new wiring, coil burners or replace the top altogehter. Do any companies offer parts like that to retrofit or update older ranges.

well I looked at all that and more. The ones mentioned above were made by Frigidaire and no longer made. The only 40 wide electric ranges are made in italy and look like cartoons, and very expensive, over 5k. sort of range that a Picasso fan in a weird house.

There are 36 inch elec ranges avail, but not sure what I could do with the 2 inch gap on each side. Any ideas on what to do with the 2 inch gap on each side. I'm thinking something could be done, if I could see a picture or a word picture. Any ideas appreciated.

A filler cabinet with a cutting block top?

Something like these:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rev...AvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I'd probably just buy a standard 30" and have a cabinet made for the 10" with a cutting board top.

At 40” wide, I imagine you’ll be looking at a double oven. Just as well, next to impossible to find in electric. Aside of the ugly ones at Home Depot, I found this. No price listed and looking at the specs, I’m sure it’s not very budget friendly.

You might do as others said, and get a 30”, and install a 10” cabinet with a butcher block on top.

That bad boy is just under $10K Eek . I know folks like to say "Buy once, cry once" but I'm sure the $2300 Kenmore will cook your food just fine.
