Hey ya'll, has anyone had any experiences with Martinez Gun Shop at 5912 San Bernardo #500 Laredo, TX? How are they to deal with? I found a SIG I want at a good price but they seem to be a very small operation. Thanks for your help! The street view and info on zillow doesn’t give me a whole lot of confidence in their business, but I have no actual experience.

Pay options are Zelle Pay and Cryptocurrency. I would be very cautious.

Yeah, a gun/ammo online store requiring payment by crypto and/or Paypal/Venmo/Zelle/CashApp is a a major indication of it definitely being a scam website. Steer clear. The web is rife with these type of scam gun/ammo stores right now. This one actually is a little more sophisticated than most. They've copied the last name and registered address of an actual FFL holder (likely a "kitchen table FFL") in Laredo, TX, to use as the basis for their scam. That's one of the downsides of FFL info being public information. They can scrape public FFL info, find small ones that don't have a web presence, then create their own scam website using the FFL's real name and address, but a fake phone number, email, and online shop. Then they trick gullible buyers into sending them online payments or crypto, for which their is no recourse to get your money back once you realize you've been scammed.

The address you gave is to the US Post Office in Laredo. The #500 is probably the mailbox number inside the post office.

Yeah, but that's the actual registered address of an FFL holder names Jesus Martinez in Laredo. So that's his PO Box, not the scammer's.

Never heard of him but his FFL is valid. You can call him directly 1(956) 763-5555 If someone is trying to scam using his name he most likely want to know about it. Copy, got it ... thanks. Personally, I would not do business with a gun shop with only a PO box listed as an address. The method of payment makes it even more suspicious to me.

There are a bunch of those out there at present, a similar discussion is going on at another forum regarding a couple bogus Remington sites that are offering to sell both current and vintage products factory direct. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. SIGforum members come through again, Thanks! I made contact with the phone number you gave, the website is a scam. Mr. Martinez verified he has an FFL but no store, website, etc. Sent him all the info I have on these people; hopefully, they can be caught. Win win for everybody except hopefully for the scammers. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
