It should be the easiest job in America, The Constitution and Bill of Rights are your guide, You take an oath to uphold it, and should not be shredded by personal or political bias.

Once on the Supreme they hire 2 brilliant law school graduates to do the research and writing. Sotomayor's "trauma" most likely due to the poor sales of the book she authored. Guess she didn't pick a quality ghoast writer to make it sellable.

Why is she whining? Seems the conservative wing chooses to sides with the liberal side more often than not. Justice Thomas being the exception. The rest of them,Roberts, Kavanaugh and Barrett can go either way.

We can safely assume she wasn’t “traumatized” when that same Supreme Court (inexplicably) sided with the Biden Administration and allowed feds to cut razor wire in order to “assist” illegals crossing into Texas.

Funny how we don't hear the right-leaning justices crying like this when the decisions don't swing their way.

Right there with you! For the sake of work/life balance, no one should have to be traumatized by their employment and her failure to cognitively parse the basis of these recent decisions shows the depth of her trauma.

We should do everything possible to remove from this atmosphere her for her own good.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said Monday she feels daily “frustration” as conservative justices move the country to the ideological right.

Except... it's not true.
Sellouts like Chief Justice Roberts and now Amy Coney Barrett side with the "liberal" (ideological left, anti-freedom) wing far too often.

When he upheld Obamacare Justice Roberts was acting as a Super Legislator, not a judge. He had to rewrite it in order to uphold it.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

It seems to me that that would be one of the easiest jobs to do. You’re given a reference that spells things out quite clearly, and asked to decide whether any given decision aligns with that reference. How hard can that be?

“Can they do that?”

“Well…let’s look it up. Nope. Next case please.”

And then have a clerk write your opinion for you while you step outside for a smoke break.

It always amazed me how the ultimate branch is so political.
I know you can say this about both sides but I always liked how people like Scalia and non justice Constitutional lawyer Dershowitz ~ on opposite sides politically would just look at the law.
Then you have others that push their side or will just vote to save appearances like the Chief Justice.
So, no surprise here on her bios but she would be better served to keep it to herself. Eek

OMG, these Judges, they like, follow the law and stuff...waaaaahhhh...

Your job is not to "change" the law. It is to ensure laws are applied according to the Constitution. As many have said already, you want to "change" the law, run for office. Which brings up an interesting question, has there ever been a Supreme Court Judge that had held public office, or vice versa??

William Howard Taft, 27th president (succeeding Theodore Roosevelt), later SCOTUS chief justice. Vice versa I don't know.

F U. I guess math isn’t her strong suit.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
