It's that combination that makes it a career-limiting incident for them.
^^ THIS ^^

I personally saw it happen back in the early 90s as a college student when I was visiting some friends that lived Southwest of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

What automotive related facility is southwest of Ann Arbor, MI? Chrysler's proving grounds in Chelsea

What bastion of horsepower did Chrysler first debut back then? The Dodge Viper

Did I see a pair of Viper's driving on the Chrysler proving grounds? No, you can't see the Chrysler proving ground's tracks outside the fence. Instead, a pair of Vipers came roaring past me on a county road a mile or two from the proving grounds. After they passed me, I saw them pull off into the parking lot of the proving grounds.
