New Zealand’s new weapons ban/ Fox News
Regardless of how you stand on the subject of gun control, the most appalling thing to me is how easy it is for the PM to wave the magic wand and declare something illegal that was previously legal. Just like that. No discussion, no debate. Poof. I don't know what kind of government NZ claims to have, but I call that a dictatorship.

You know why those on the left are singing the praises of her actions? No so much because they want to get rid of the guns, they want the power the she wields. Banning the guns is a bonus.

They won't. There are something like 4 million New Zealanders, and they are almost all white and relatively well-to-do.
This is what they want .

Then why do they need a law (or more laws)? Eek

They simply want more terror attacks. Showing progressives this is how you achieve gun control will mean more attacks. NZ’s government did NOTHING but show the world that terrorism works. I wouldn’t put it past progressives to set them up or at the very least to do as little as they can to reduce the carnage in the future.

Secretly progressives love tragedies like this because they can use them to further their agenda quite effectively.

It happened here in yUK - twice.

First time after the Hungerford Massacre - all semi-autos rifles/carbines went.

Second time after the Dunblane Massacre - all cartridge-firing handguns [or the most part] went in UK except for Northern Ireland.

New Zealand’s knee-jerk gun ban is EXACTLY why we have the Second Amendment

https://www.conservativereview...ly-second-amendment/

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Bernie jumping on the bandwagon, saying that US should follow NZ in banning "assault weapons"

https://news.yahoo.com/video/s...aland-225354983.html

Screw you Bernie. As Airsoft Guy once said (paraphrasing), "Fuck yourself till the sun burns out, and then fuck yourself 5 minutes more."

America leads the way, we don't follow. Why don't you do us Americans all a favor and move to NZ. You'll feel safer, and its all about feelings, right, not pesky facts...

Look at the comment section! It’s a losing issue for Dems. Americans don’t want to hear that same old anti gun bullshit.

Keep it up Bernie this is a losing issue for you.

If the leftists try that tactic here they will find out the hard way just how unique and different the circumstances of the founding of our nation make us from these countries that still pay lip service to the concept of any power emanating from a King or Queen.

And, the attacker was not even a NZ citizen (he was Australian).

The media has played right into his hand. His actions prompted a knee jerk political reaction to bans guns in NZ, which has given the MSM an opening to ignite the same debate here in the US. Exactly what he wanted to happen.

It is another significant advance for Islam: New Zealanders disarmed and developing institutionalized Dhimmitude.

In "Christchurch", for irony's sake.

Oh, and there's this information all over the MSM. NOT.

New evidence is emerging that several people may have been converted to radical Islam at the Al Noor mosque in New Zealand.

New Evidence huh?

This was known last weekend. Back in 2014 there was an article written about the two Kiwis who were radicalized in that mosque and later killed by a drone in Syria. I don't remember the publication but it was somewhat scrubbed from the regular sources. The copy I looked at was on the wayback machine.

edited to add:
Here is the link to the original article from Stuff on archive today. link

If you wish to search the title of the article is "A Kiwi lad's death by drone"

This is a great example of how registration leads to confiscation, because that is exactly what they intend to do.

So when your leftist family / friends say "Oh, we just want to know where the guns are", you can point to this as why we resist registration / registries, because this is where it always is intended to go.

Yeah. After glancing at his manifesto and reading some of that garbage one can only conclude he was full of hate, contradictions and flawed thought. For all his focus on racial purity and people not moving or “invading” other lands he fails to recognize Japan, which is quite racially homogeneous is experiencing a negative birthrate.

I find it really disappointing that the leftist NZ government is punishing law abiding citizens rather than just being honest and letting the people know there is nothing they can do to stop this and future attacks. People need to consider their own safety because the government is not going to do it.

The Queen in UK has no powers at all, over law, or how many fries you get with a double Mac.

She is the titular head as the monarch of a constitutional parliamentary democracy. In UK, Kings and queens lost their 'powers' when Charles 1 got his head chopped off in 1649 for trying to exercise them, and thereby committing treason.

I believe the PM cannot unilaterally enact the ban. There must be legislation which would happen in April, but there is not expected to be much, if any, resistance.

Isn't it interesting that the media has been reporting it as if the ban has already taken place?

It is why we have the whole bill of rights, and most of the amendments. It prevents a mere majority from running off and doing something expedient or which superficially seems to be a good idea when it involves the things we think are most important.
