I refuse to eat at chain pizza places only because every town here has at least one good mom and pop pizza place. Although I understand that may not be the case in all states? Anyone able to confirm?

I grew up with New Yorker parents that hated Pizza Hut, because it was not NY style.

As time went on we went to Pizza Hut now and then, mostly for the stuffed Pizza they had in the 80's. Then I met my ex in college and her grandmother preferred going to Pizza Hut wherever she went, so every time we saw her, it was Pizza Hut.

I can't remember the last time I went to a Pizza Hut in the US. Probably 15 years ago. There is one a few miles from me but I can't remember ever going, or if it is still dine in now or just take out. There is a local place across the street that does Buffalo New York Style which I have grown a liking to so that's a go to place. And Domino's because they deliver.

However, Pizza Huts in China are usually full service restaurants with tons of menu options and considered "upscale". And the menu has pictures so you can point to what you want. They are weird in China in that you have to make sure you order cheese and tomato sauce because they are not default options. And they have topping options we don't, like squid, octopus, and sea urchin.

I tried Dominos a few years back and it appeared that they actually improved their flavor and quality, then I had the Pizza Hut to go crap recently and it frankly was awful, like how Dominos USED to be; bland cardboard with cheap weird non stretchy cheese. It’s really ironic to me.
