I was in about the same position as you last fall & I bought the same helmet. I got in early on the yeswelder MP200 kickstarter - Stick/MIG/TIG/Plasma cut for $500. I will likely only use the MIG/Cut & rarely stick.

I've only used it twice & I don't really know what the hell I'm doing, but it functioned as expected. The cracked handle of a tomato stake driver has held up through 100+ stakes, which might be a record considering all the other welds on the handles that I didn't make.
