sjtillWell, an enjoyable video that has nothing to do with reality. See what Tom Cruise started?

spunk639I'm not a NASCAR fan but that is awesome and positive for our Military and Country.

RipleyKinda too bad, if NASCAR needed a street course, they used Chicago well. The visuals of the race were pretty spectacular. I'm not watching much NASCAR these days so I can't speak to how well the Chicago layout raced.
Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen, Aussie Supercars champ came over here, won ChiTown a couple times as well as other road course wins and he's become a force. So yeah, it appears the cream rose at Chicago and too bad it's no more.

chellim1Awesome!
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

navyshooterThey close off the runways on NAS North Island every year IIRC in October for a Race. It should be interesting to have NASCAR do it.

LS1 GTOCoronado snooty-snoot types are going to flip out over the noise and smells.
I was stationed there for 6 years and know too well that attitude

navyshooterThe traffic will be EPIC!
On an average day it'd take me an hour to go the 2 miles from the main gate to the bridge. I'd have to believe this will be worse.

Only the race fans will be allowed to deviate off the direct path from the base to the bridge after the race.
Sailors will still get a ticket.

I was just thinking this exact thing.
Not sure what expectations they're thinking for this but, shit-show is what immediately comes to mind. The attraction of Coronado/NAS North Island is its relative isolation...holding a major public spectator event there, is the direct opposite of this. The Coronado Bay Bridge isn't designed set-up for this level of traffic, are they going to have spectators park on another runway/apron area? Just sounds like the potential for a giant mess.

DanHI have never seen an Airport Circuit that wasn't awesome. However, I'm not sure if NASCAR announced if they're selling tickets or not.
