FBMP has more tire kickers than people who want to do business.

My last recent experience there selling a generator include language saying I'd take ad down when sold, but if still up still had it for sale. Don't ask if still available.

Within an hour had about 4 folks email me asking if it was still available. I thought they were being funny, but apparently not. When I replied with "Not to you." with a quote of the original language, 3 of the 4 went ballistic as though I'd questioned their lineage and mother's morals.

It was sorta fun.....

I don't know how the scammers get away with it on FB except perhaps Noone moderates the mess. There are loads of ads for the little Honda inverter for $59.00 and $89.00. They show stacks of them on pallets for sale. Trouble is, they cost between $1,199.00 and $1,299.00 all day long. Some barely used for $800.00.

Facebook has over 3 billion ACTIVE users. Effective moderation is largely impossible.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."
