All I know is that it now takes 3.31 hours to run my new dishwasher to get a good clean and DRY load of dishes when it was only 1 hour with the 25+ year old dishwasher that preceded it. Roll Eyes

Do any refrigerators actually do this?*

That'd be a lot of pointless food wastage. We have one that beeps annoyingly but that does the trick.

I have a knock off of an 8 jet Speakman shower head that is 4.5 lbs of brass with no restrictor. You can get wet or rinse off in about a 1.9 seconds. I also use a water pick wand type to not waste water in between getting wet and rinsing off.

I was at a True Value hardware store last week looking for O-rings. I was describing this setup to the plumbing guy who said, 'that would illegal'. I kind of looked at him like Mathew Broderick at the end of Ferris Bueller, and said 'Riiiight' like Nipsey Russell used to.

He was really serious. It was actually kind of funny.

When we bought our new construction home we purchased some shower fixtures we wanted online. The plumber informed us it was illegal in Massachusetts. All fixtures need to be approved by the plumber union or some bullshit. There is literally a list of what is allowed.

These go to eleven.

Wow, you guys are making me consider putting a new dishwasher in, and taking my old one with me when I move! Big Grin

My refrigerator beeps if the door is open too long. What pisses me off is the dryer. IT tells ME when IT thinks my clothes are dry. If they're not, well too bad for me. I finally figured out that "wrinkle release" doesn't do that, so I finish all loads on that cycle. Oh wait, let me save my man card, my WIFE does that.

Not an appliance, but very PITA: When I worked for my landlord cutting grass, I rode a high-tech mower. Which I could not let idle when I needed to hop off it to move something. Which I needed to do a lot. It would shut itself off if I left the mower seat. Mad

I thought I was the only one who traveled with my personal shower head/hose combo and pliers.

Guess I’m not weird after all Big Grin

My F150 has a switch to shut that shit down. I found a piece of plastic orange bottle folded in half and forcibly shoved in the gap will hold the button in the “off” position

Don’t get me started on gas cans

My Ford Escape has a similar switch to disable that nonsense, just a couple inches from the PRNDL selector, so it's an automatic motion on my part to tap that switch when shifting out of "Park" right after engine start.

Some people carry special door locks. You have your priorities straight.

Next is the broilers in the oven won't stay on with the door open. What the heck, that's how we always used the broiler growing up. That way you can sear without overcooking. But nope, not now. Open door, flame goes off.

Agree - the first time our new fridge compressor turned off when the door opened I thought that we'll probably be buying a new one in a few years since the on/off cycles for it will be so freaking high.
