You just proved my point. Your original question to pace40, “ How do you not have a cell phone in the year 2025??????????”, clearly implied that one has to have a cell phone, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Whose problem is it that you decided to cut your landline?

If someone has access to your cell phone, computer, tablet, smart watch or e-mail, TFA is useless. And annoying. Now I’m finding companies requiring user ID, Password, TFA AND my inputting my zip code (again, what does THIS do?). All so I can pay my bills. If someone else wants to pay my bills, let them. If it is a website where something can be ordered, don’t let them save your card info. Use something like ApplePay, that generates a different number every time it is used.

I am forced to use two factor authentication on a frequent basis. Sometimes it becomes ten factor authentication as the system just does not work and puts you into an endless loop.

We just switched over several e-accounts and between us we must have gotten half a dozen TFA texts. Plus I used a different PC, another TFA. Now that I'm an official user, perhaps those TFAs are over...

I enjoy the added security on my accounts. I'll put up with the hassle for the peace it adds.

I have started putting it on everything that asks for it now. Less issues with all the data breaches out there.

I wish the ATF/FBI would do it for FFLs. Every other week I am having to call to have my account unlocked and they won't tell me why it gets locked. Pretty sure someone keeps trying to access it.

One thing that makes 2FA easier: If you choose to get the code by text you can touch the code to copy it to the paste buffer. Then you can past it into the authentication field.

2FA works well, nice to have an authorization option on login to any account.

Most allow you to turn it off, however that would be a mistake, especially if you use the same login name and password everywhere...
