In my former work I have had a number of cars come in with a newly installed part not working because they didn't remove shipping protectors or packaging. I recall one having to be towed. When installing a side terminal battery, he not only didn't remove the plastic caps on the terminals, but he went to the trouble of poking holes through them so the bolt would go through.

Longer than it should have. Cordless grease gun, couldn't get it to prime. Pretty near every gun I've ever had - manual or pneumatic - was a pain in the ass to prime so I didn't immediately suspect anything other than an air bubble.
Then I took the cartridge out to have a peek at the business end of the gun...

Just like forgetting to poke a hole in the inner seal of the tube of caulk before trying to use it.

Some years back, I went to NAPA and got a fresh set of wiper blades for the RAV4. Some proud of myself, being all proactive and shit, putting fresh blades on before Winter. Started raining on the way home so I turned the wipers on and Great Googlymoogly! Smear City. WTF?
Whipped a U-ey and headed right back to NAPA to have a word. Pulled in, went to pull the blade off...and noticed the plastic edge guard on the rubber blade...

Yep, I’d have been swearing at everyone and his brother for yet another grease gun I couldn’t get to prime. I figure about 15 minutes before I’d figure it out.
My orange Kubota grease gun has a spring loaded push button to release air. This message has been edited. Last edited by: trapper189,

Once fixed, did it work like greased lightning?
