Kevmo - you may know this, but in case not - the fact that you think the event has "passed" isn't a huge deal. If the symptoms do in fact match up with this, you'll suddenly find yourself getting some imaging where in most cases they can identify if this was or was not the issue. If it was, they'll keep digging (not literally) until they find the root causes and then fix them. If it was some other peripheral cardiac issue, they'll figure that out too. Radiology is a truly amazing field and their abilities can save your life.

It's not the diagnosis and repair that will hurt you, it's putting it off until it's too late. Get thee to a competent facility right now.

^^^^ This, except they may not find evidence of a (dissolved) clot. I had a TIA 13 years ago involving my central vision in both eyes, leaving me with only peripheral vision. In about 20 minutes my central vision started to return much like a video fade in.
The Docs were convinced that it was a TIA, they could find no cause, and it has not reoccurred.

Obviously this is very serious business because it can reoccur in a fatal or disabling form.

I recently had a vision incident so weird I had to talk to my doctor about it. I had an MRI, damage was found described as evidence on an embolic stroke. It was also stated to be old at the time of the MRI.

TMI's are embolic strokes and it's not uncommon to have one and not know it. My vision problem was not the result of what the MRI found, it remains a mystery. At no point can I recall anything resembling a stroke so the frontal lobe damage is also unsettling.

Get to the doctor now.

Hope you're well, definitely post something when you can to let us know you're okay. Happened yesterday evening, but nothing today? Lot of scary possibilities discussed in this thread.

Definitely time to check in, Kevmo.

You okay, brother?

I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888

Sorry for the del,ay and thank you for the suggestions and comments....I went to ER and they ran a slew of tests and scans and found zilch. I am going to see a specialist on Tuesday and will let everyone know how that goes

Did they ask you if you feel safe at home? Wink

Glad to hear you're ok. Try to make sure there are others around you until you go back for a checkup, mmk?

Your description does sound somewhat like depersonalization/derealization. It's a very unsettling feeling that I've experienced when I had uncontrolled chronic anxiety.

Consider seeing a psychiatrist/psychologist if the other docs find nothing physically wrong.

What kind of specialist, kev? A neurologist, I hope. Could have been a type of seizure.

I hope it is a neurologist as well. If all is well see a clinical psychologist for evaluation. You mentioned stress being a factor. The symptoms you describe are suggestive of an Anxiety Disorder.
