I've always found the Honda and Toyota refills to be of better quality than any aftermarket rubber. Been doing it this way since my '88 4Runner.

I haven't bothered "refilling" my own or customers' wipers for years. This made a little more sense when both wipers were the same length, but they aren't any more. For example, my own car has a 26" and a 16" wiper. On old cars with metal blades, missing a segment threading the refill through could scratch up a windshield.
