Cruising the Highway to Hell |
We’ve been through multiple CT Scans, initially spots on lungs that seem to have cleared up, then all of a sudden a growth oh the left adrenal gland, CT Scans with and without contrast all say growth on the adrenal gland, so, sent in for a sonogram. Results come back with a growth on the right kidney. I asked the doc about the adrenal gland that was initially diagnosed and what the sonogram was supposed to look at, and he gives a blank stare and says good question. More flipping tests to come with the ever changing problems. Could it be that someone needs an R and L placed on their shoe to determine right and left, are there multiple things goin on? WTF is going on and why does each test show something different. “Government exists to protect us from each other. Staring back from the abyss |
I find it hard to believe that a radiologist would make this mistake, but on a CT, the right kidney is on the left. Stranger things have happened. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

Had a friend several years back have a CAT scan. He received a call to be seen ASAP. Looked like a brain tumor they said. OOOOps he was told it was just a shadow. Of course he had to wait for these positive results. Mistakes happen.

My daughter(15 at the time) went for an X-ray concerning scoliosis. They took the shot and went into a panic. Apparently, she had her keys on a chain draped around her neck when they took the shots. The geniuses never asked her about it until I pointed out the spot on the X-ray was freakin' key shaped. Are these people idiots?

Last Dec my wife collapsed & was taken to the nearest emergency room (an HCA hospital). They said she had the flu. After 4 days she was given a CT scan of her head. One specialist told me that she showed something above her ear but did not think it was a problem. Later that day another Neuro doc said at the left top of her brain showed that she may have had a stroke and not to worry. After getting in touch with the otolaryngologist she had been seeing at Vanderbilt who contacted the head neuro surgeon she was transferred. Vanderbilt scheduled an emergency surgery the next morning. She had an uncommon bacterial infection that encompassed much of her brain and was given a 20% chance of surviving. She survived and is now normal after 3 months in a hospital and 2 months at home. Last Apr I was urinating a large amount of blood. The resident urologist showed me the scan and pointed to a tumor in my bladder. Surgery was scheduled to remove the tumor and during surgery they found a cyst on my prostate that was bleeding and the tumor in my bladder did not exist. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! Well, if the performance and actions of said geniuses during COVID are any indication, I think you have your answer. That they ignored the science we all learned in 7th & 8th grade, even in defiance of logic and common sense at times, is pretty damning of a VERY large seqment of the medical profession! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! I have had dozens of MRIs/CTs and it's best to try and get diagnostic imaging done at the same place so that the radiologist that reads it can compare to the prior ones. If that is not feasible ask for a DVD copy of the previous imaging and radiologist report to take along to new imaging so they can upload it for the radiologist to compare and read notes of last imaging. Doing such can also reduce your stress a lot and save you money as a radiologist will then be able to detect any unusual growths/spots found and report if they have changed or not. Usually anything found not to have changed in size and shading (taking up contrast) will be reported as "stable" and not be near as much a concern as some thing that is found and classified as "new" which may warrant additional testing. I have had things reported as "new" which I have had for years because they did not have access to prior imaging until I was able to provide them. Sometimes things found can reduce in size or disappear which is also typically a good thing. Visiting your doctor after diagnostic imaging usually means your doctor is going to read your radiologist report and use that to determine what, if anything, should be done next so it's best to help your doctor get the best information. Also at bare minimum get a copy of any radiologist report you ever have and keep it with your health records. I like using three ring binders rather than stuffing them in various places. If you have any online patient portals for doctors offices and/or hospitals you may find you can download lab results and radiologist reports from them.
