Supplies for 800 hour service on the tractor. Air, oil, fuel, trans and hydraulic filters, 5 gallons of Kubota hydro fluid, 2 gallons of Rotella synthetic and a gallon of diesel-rated antifreeze. Air and fuel filters came to $150 all by their lonesome! $35/gallon for the oil. $25/gallon for the hydro fluid. And that's with my military discount!

ridewvTractor servicing supplies are expensive, imaging adding $100+ hour labor to it if you had a kid at a dealer do the service!
IIRC I paid just under $500 for essentially the same stuff to service my 9 year old Deere after I bought it used.
No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Yup, I figured I could pretty much double that for dealer service, plus I'd have to haul it up there 60 miles and go get it when they got around to doing it.
I don't like being with my tractor that long. Plus the "oil and filter" guy is usually the most junior grease monkey in the shop and God only knows if he has a clue.

I usually buy available filters from NAPA thinking they'll be cheaper. Just for giggles, I checked with Messick's, an on-line source for Kubota parts.
Genuine Kubota Air Filter - $31 vs. $85 at NAPA
Genuine Kubota Fuel Filter - $18 vs. $66 at NAPA.
Kept the receipt, I'll be taking some stuff back to NAPA...

ridewvDoes the air filter consist of two filter cylinders an inner and outer one? I think Deere sells them together or you can also buy just the outer one from Deere separately and it's the one that really gets dirty.

Yes, two piece. As long as you change the outer regularly, the inner should last basically forever.

jimmy123xLOLOLOLOLOLOL just wait until you buy a yacht. One 2020 70' Sportfish I manage has 2-2600HP 16 cylinder 2000 series MTU's. Parts are about $5,000 to do a basic service. Just under 90 gallons of oil!!!!!! That being said I always use OEM filters because they're trusted and aren't much if any cheaper off brands.
Motors burn together 175 gph to push the boat 35 mph at cruise speed. I once ran the boat from North Miami, FL to Nassau Bahamas 8am-3pm, owner and GF got on board (flew in from DR), slept on the boat, and left at 7am right back to Miami. Burned over 2,000 gallons of fuel on that one, plus $450 customs and immigration, $1800 crew, $500 dockage.

Same here, only a bit further. The shop here does "house calls", but they charge out the ass for mileage. The good thing, though, is they only do one mileage charge, so if several people need some service they'll schedule them all the same day and you divvy up the charge so it's not so bad.
I just did all that on mine last year and as I recall it wasn't quite as much as you paid, but still a lot.

PHPaulGosh I love owning big toys. Decided it was time to service the 60" mower. Replace the belt, sharpen the blades, grease it, etc.
Blades worn plumb out, 2 of 3 blade retainers cracked.
$130 for blades and retainers, $50 for the belt.
Ima hafta get a job. Not...

PrefontaineReminds me of my Amsoil bill when I buy fluids for everything in the fleet. Like you I have to go out to the garage, inspect every vehicle ODO, write everything down like an accountant. Double check my “cart” before I check out to make sure I didn’t fuck anything up. Then pay the bill. 6 different weights of oil. About the same cost for me when I have to buy diff oil (gear lube) or transfer case fluid. Everything is bank these days.
