Use of military time outside of the military
quote:
Stop it.
When was the last time you called a store to ask what time they closed and they told you "such and such hundred hours".
They are going to speak English and say "such and such O'fucking clock pm"
If you are on active duty you get a pass otherwise the war's over man. You can get those spare parts for your head and just tell me what time Am or PM.

^^^^^^^^^
I bet you love it when military acronyms are used along with the 24 hour clock. Just use CB lingo and out of date slang expressions.

This just happened to irk me for some reason this morning.

I get it. Sometimes something inane at the wrong moment when things aren’t going well is just enough to kick you over the edge.

Hope things smooth out for you, man. Smile

I've used it exclusively for 30 years. It is a superior system with no confusion.

It makes more sense to use 24hr time.

Now daylight savings...

Haven't you heard? We're supposed to use UTC now because GMT is too England centric.

LOL. You showed them!

I don't care. I understand military time. No big deal.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Simon & Garfunkel's album just wouldn't sound right if it had been called Wednesday Morning, 0300 Hours.

One of the many things I love about this place: You just never know when you're gonna bust out laughing.

On it's face (see what I did there?) 24 hour vs. AM/PM timekeeping wouldn't be a humorous topic, but this is SigForum.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I do like Patsy Cline's "Walkin' after 2400."

Or would that be 0000?

Both are used, though, technically speaking, 24:00 is an impossibility because, at the last tick of 23:59:59.999... it becomes 00:00 Smile
