What is more slippery than Thai noodles?
Not a riddle/humor, sorry.
A rant. Fodder for a haiku, maybe.

Jeez, a man could starve to death trying to transfer Thai noodles from bowl to mouth.

I've employed a big spoon, fork, and chopsticks in frustrating efforts to eat them, I'm sure to the amusement of adjacent diners.

Maybe Spaghetti Aglio e Olio comes close but a liberal sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese renders it manipulable.

Holding the bowl close to your mouth or your head close to the bowl, shoveling the ends of some noodles in with chopsticks, and then slurping up, is the traditional way to eat slippery Asian noodles.

(Yes, really.)

I have always said I would starve to death if I had to use chopsticks.
My Asian friend just laughs as she navigates just fine with them.

If I had to eat rice with chopsticks I’d probably like sticky rice too. Fortunately, I don’t have to eat rice with chopsticks.

Serious about crackers.

Put an empty 1 gallon zip lock bag on a carpeted floor and try walking on it.

Maybe have a spotter near by.

I love using chopsticks, but, I won't hesitate long to resort to Western tableware when it's something beyond my chopsticks chops Smile

Just use a spoon and a fork. That's what most Thai people eat with anyways.

An iPhone right out of the box with no protective case is as slippery to me IMO as a wet bar of soap.

My iPhone X, with round edges, was even worse than current iPhone models. Yeah, a protective case is essential. More to prevent drops than to prevent damage from drops.

Thai noodles are easy, especially if you're using wooden chopsticks with tapered ends.

Try eating lai-fun with a pair made of plastic and non-tapered ends. They are thicker, denser, and cylindrical. If you don't have good control, it'll easily slip off, and splash broth onto your shirt. Don't order that on a date. Big Grin

At home, I use plastic chopsticks with tapered and textured ends. Not slippery like cheap smooth plastic chopsticks, but can still be tossed in the dishwasher.

Exactly. They hold a large spoon in their dominant hand and load it up with a fork held in the other hand. Without the spoon you'll miss out on the yummy sauces which tend to be thinner than in some other Asian cuisines. (I used to date a Thai girl.)
