I've never claimed to be overly smart, especially when math is involved, but um...

Yes, Jegs has free shipping for orders $99 and over... says so right at the top of the webpage.

Shipping doesn't count towards the total.

I believe the question is does $40.48 + $11.99 really equal $64.46?

That’s what I would be concerned about, not the shipping.

What Sigfreund said. New math would change the problem to 40.50+12.00-.03=52.50-.03=52.47.

Math seems correct I don't see the issue
