My daughter needs a new MacBook Air, and I offered to buy her one. There was a good deal for President's Day at Best Buy--where I normally never go. I ordered what she wanted; saw the card had been charged, but did NOT hear from Best Buy by either text or e-mail. Called the store, the CS person who sounds like she comes from an archipelago in the western Pacific says the "order was canceled". But they charged my card--then refunded it. If there was a problem with the card, why did it go through? I think they're not telling me the truth, but in any case they are not easy or pleasant to deal with. I'll wait for a Costco deal, or wait until the new M3 model comes out in the spring. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

About 25 years ago Best Buy cheated me out of $15 on a $1000 purchase. I have not been in a Best Buy since then. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! Sigs Owned - A Bunch

Particularly of you're military or a veteran. Though I got a better deal on my last iPad at Costco. As for Best Buy: I don't use them often, and it's been a while since I last did, but they never did me wrong. "America is at that awkward stage. Last time I went into a Best Buy was the summer of 2019. Spoke to one of their alleged audio specialists. I knew more about the product than he did. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. Bought a laptop from BB online to be delivered to Fort Sam Houston. It arrived there per FedEx but either the base post office couldn't find it or it really wasn't there. After a few days FedEx tracking shows it got picked up there, made some stops in TX, then got delivered again to somewhere in CA -- to a BB warehouse on Feb 1. I requested they ship another one. A couple days later, sorry, out of stock, so re-ship cancelled. BB refunded the first one to my credit card on Feb 1 (I have the receipt), but credit card company doesn't have the refund. Every couple of days I'm on the phone to the Philippines or whatever for an hour.

I think they are barely holding on but not for much longer. I have three in my area and two closed in the past couple of years.

If a store is local I simply go in buy what I want and then walk out with my product. Sure it takes a little time but it also eliminates headaches like the one the OP experienced. If a store isn't local I find a store that is local and has the product I want in stock and then I go buy it. The only time I order something online is if I absolutely need it and no local shops have it.

Just a suggestion...I see Newegg has refurbished Macbook Airs on their website. Newegg is one of the better shops online... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. I guess it all depends on the location and management. My daughter's laptop decided to crash and they had to send it in to their repair center. It came back a week later and was still not 100%. I called the store manager and he said to come see him. I went in, he looked up my original receipt, and gave me full purchase price towards a new laptop. I still use them for some electronics.

I prefer to buy Apple re-furbs from the Apple website. Reasons: I am not aware of any downside to ordering a refurb directly from Apple. I have bought Mac computers, iPhones, Watches, and iPads, all of them Apple refurbs. Never had a hint of a problem. Everything smooth, just as it should be. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Before I went to BB I called Crutchfield and spoke to them.I spec’ed the same Pioneer head, told them I wanted to retain the steering wheel controls and the Sirius radio, a separate module according to them. They gave me all the information and pricing. When I went to BB I was looking at the exact same model number Pioneer head. The tag said the Sirius module was an additional cost item, the pricing breakdown from their audio specialist did not have the Sirius module on it. When I asked about the module I was told it was not needed, it was part of the radio. Strike one, you’re looking right at the tag and in your install guide and you still screw up? Their price was almost to the penny of what Crutchfield quoted with the exception of free installation at BB. I went to talk to their installation tech and on the strength of how he presented himself I decided to look for a takeout factory radio which I found in a Jeep forum for $300 thus saving myself a bit over $700 -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. BB and Starbucks are pretty much the same. Facial piercings, strange hair color and Vocal Fry. My wife took her computer there for repair. They were unable to fix and broke the screen. They assumed no responsibility. Have since found a small computer shop that fixes our stuff. {The owner is from the United States and has a conventional haircut.

Back when I was repairing PCs, I made SO MUCH money working on PCs and laptops that had that little pink Best Buy sticker on them. I knew a couple of the techs at BB, and they were actually pretty good techs. Problem was you never knew who was gonna draw your PC. And their spread on skill set was quite wide.

It's been a couple of decades now, but my computer stuff was all destroyed in a fire. I went to BB to replace it all, about 4k worth of crap at the time. The salesman pressed me FIVE TIMES for the extended warranty before I became somewhat verbal. Their security escorted me out. I haven't been back.
