Try that with 2 M59 personnel carriers. One buried up to the top of the star on the side (AIR, about6 1/2 feet. Dippy 2LT called M59 in to pull the first one out. Buried the second one trying to pull the first one out.

Called in a tank retriever which had a helluva time pulling both those M59s out at the same time. 2lt had the troops shovel down deep enough to hook up the "rescue" M59 to the one buried with tow cables. Soon both buried.

VTR had to back up to a large pine tree, hook a cable around it to provide an anchor. Finally, after about 4 hours, got everybody pulled out and back into the exercise.
