stylophilesA (very) long essay: The immeasurable unending staggering stupidity of the common liberal (as observed in their natural habitat of Western Washington
I will start this out by saying I have lived in Washington my entire life, and consider it to be one of the most beautiful of states, there is no way I would ever consider living anywhere else, I would love to be able to retire here.... Except.
Except for the fact that the place has filled up with "Liberals". "Progressives". "Forward thinking champions of the common person". You know... Commies.
Not just your ordinary communist dictator wannabes, who lack only the opportunity to seize the means of production, rationalize the allocation of resources, streamline distribution of wealth to ensure freedom and fairness for all, while at. the same time ruthlessly executing anyone who disagrees with you commies.
No, no, these are dumb commies. The Special Ed of Socialism. Not to put to fine a point on it, these brain dead feckless dumbs shits couldn't manage taking a dump after half a dozen Taco Bell value meals and a double handful of ExLax.
Now, I am NOT talking about the politicians here. They are dumb, don't get me wrong, but only in the sense that they're not smart enough to know they are on the wrong side of history. Nope, I am talking about your average voter in Western Washington. They vote for this crap. And somehow, seem to think it's
good crap.
Like, yeah, you've turned Seattle into a cesspool literally a giant outdoor toilet, tweekers are sliding under your car at stoplights to steal your catalytic converter, and it's just generally accepted now that you can steal a Kia, jump in with your other 14 year old companions, and go raise hell with your "Glock switch" and if you even get caught, well... they might (maybe) book you into juvie. so they can release you the next day. But hey, maybe if we just try some more dumb shit proposed by the same idiots that got us where we are, maybe
this it will all work out! Surely it will work out.... Right?
Let's look at the latest piece of crap to hit our legislative body... The Washington State Health Care Authority Substance Use and Recovery Services Plan Recommendation. Why, whatever might these fine, fine gentlepersons be recommending you ask?
Well, let's take a little look....
(cut and pasted from their own site)
Recommendation – "Assemble a statewide workgroup to make recommendations on a framework for safe supply for inclusion in the Washington State Substance Use Recovery Services Plan to provide a regulated, tested supply of controlled substances to individuals at risk of drug overdoses. The workgroup should center people who use drugs, with lived and living experience, and who have lost loved ones."
In plain English that means, the state should provide free drugs.
There's more? You ask with amazement and wonder. Why of course there is, we can't stop there with just free drugs! We need to think ahead and consider the consequences of just supplying free drugs all willy nilly you silly person! Think of the potential consequences! We need to add the following"
"This workgroup should consider values of (1) non-commercialization, and (2) alternative lawful income source for people who have been trapped in the illicit distribution economy and could be displaced by a safe supply program, to prevent potential unintended consequences that would disadvantage communities most impacted."
Yeah. Yeah, they want to make sure we provide some sort of subsidy payout to the drug dealers that might lose out income if the state starts giving out free drugs.
Let that sink in a minute. Really let it kind of percolate down among the ol gray matter, get it right up into those brain cells... Now realize that people here
will vote for this. If it even gets on the ballot instead of just getting pushed through the legislature. They will vote for this.
What kind of window licking, smooth brain, full retard, helmet wearing jackwad do you have to be to vote for this?
The same kind who decided that we needed us some "common sense gun safety laws", that's who. I found a Remington 95 listed for sale locally, at a good price, so I figured, heck, let's go snatch that up! Been a while since I've been in a gun shop, most of what I look for is less common antique stuff, I find it online, usually it ships direct. Cause, you know, it's
ancient. But whatever, this is cool, I get to support a local business, and if anyone needs support delivered in container ship, job lot, Costco sized quantities, it's a gun shop owner in Washington state.
So, in I go, the little Remington is as described, and just to reward me for my travel time, I also find a Winchester 1906 .22 pump. A rifle I have been looking for a reasonably priced example forever. My first gun ever purchased the second I was legal was a 1906, long ago traded off. For $200, there was no way it wasn't coming with me.
Now I know, the Remington is a late production, so it's not an antique. I'm buying a handgun, so OK. Figure I will fill out the paperwork, and then wait for the background check. Dumb, but that's the way it's been since they stopped accepting our Concealed Pistol License as an instant background. But hey, at least I can go shoot the little 06. Fire up some old memories of being the only one in our group who could mag dump my .22 (no disconnect on the 1906, and nobody had an autoloader!)
Well, no. No you can't. They ask for my "safety certificate". Turns out you gotta prove you passed a "safety class" to buy any firearm now. And no, being my department's lead firearms instructor, holding a couple different state certificates, etc, etc doesn't count. Got to have you that "safety certificate"!
Now, I'd be more pissed at this part, but turns out you go to a web site on your phone, scroll through a bunch of material (I mean, thoroughly, and painstakingly study with an intensity normally reserved for 14 year olds who just discovered internet porn) and presto, you got a certificate. So, I admire that kind of find a problem, solve. problem thinking. But, yeah, turns out also, rifles are no longer exempt, you gotta wait on everything.
Sooo... three weeks and a bit later, here they are! The super scary extra assault death machines that are the .41 rimfire and the .22 pump action.
I'm going to go make me a drink now...

911BossI agree wholeheartedly!
Can’t wait until I am able to get out of this state.
Had my CPL for over thirty years, worked for LE agency for 30 years. No history other than traffic tickets and yet I still must be “vetted” by the illustrious WSP clerks probably sporting a lower ACCESS Certification (allows use of State/Fed computer systems) than I had.
Just bought a gun from another member here and it is currently in quarantine (1 week down, 1 more to go…)
Shop doing the transfer didn’t ask for the certificate (and I had forgotten about that important “safety” measure

) so I am guessing they will ask about it when I come to pick up.
Thankfully I had already completed the free “course” offered by Sporting Systems so I have my cert and will be ready.
Getting to the point I am starting to think about going hardcore OC with 20 round mag in a P226 with threaded barrel along with a slung AR complete with 40 round mag as a means of “civil disobedience” to make a statement about the stupidity of these laws.
Maybe I’ll wear my laser rangefinder on a lanyard around my neck to make sure I don’t break the 250’ rule as I lurk about protests and get a BodyCam from Amazon so I can “audit” any police response that may show up to trample what few rights we have left in their state.

airsoft guyCouple years back I bought a Luger and Mauser c96 from Arc, pair of pistols older than anybody you know alive right now, still gotta sit in jail until the police ok it. Nevermind I've got a Glock 34 on my hip and 3 spare 21 rounders on the other side, CPL in hand, and a mountain of guns back home, it's just Commonsense™.
Washington has been blue for a long time, but before there were Democrats who were at least reasonable and had to listen to their constituents. Unfortunately all those reasonable Democrats died or retired, and enough Blue No Matter Who drones have moved in, that the Democrats don't even have to try anymore. They can shove through whatever bullshit they want, because there's enough waterheads who will gleefully vote them in no matter what, and any pushback will be met with something along the lines of "the Republicans are literally Nazis".
It's fucking depressing seeing what this place has become. Wasn't that long ago we legalized SBRs and suppressors, now the SKS is banned by name and pretty soon we'll need a permit to buy anything.

P220 SmudgeYou guys with roots and family there have my sympathy. I escaped in 2022 and haven’t had one iota of regret. That place is fucked, it’s a total loss. I’m going to put my efforts in where things are still an actual battleground. The second to last handgun I bought there, it was a private sale and over a
month wait because the shop wouldn’t release it without a proceed from the state police, who evidently didn’t have their shit together. I’m not saying I bought my last handgun there in a parking lot, but I’m also not saying I didn’t. I keep getting push notifications from the various city Subreddits for the greater SeaTac area and between those shitfests and the news stories, every last thing I hear about Washington makes me glad I got my family out when I did.
