I’ll use the recent sports headline to keep this non political.

FDU “Makes History” as second 16-seed to beat a 1-seed.

Seen this nonsense a lot recently, most often related to being the 2nd or even 3rd/4th person of color to do something.

It’s okay to “repeat history” but you can’t “make history” twice.

Just focus on the accomplishment, not the flat out wrong overselling of it. Makes me feel like my intelligence is of no importance.

“Just read, like, and pay me viewer”

I hate clickbait news article titles, and don't even get me started on the overly hyped weather.

I see articles like "[brilliant conservative] skewers [loud mouth libtard]." I've read countless articles like that only to find some milquetoast response by the conservative. I work in oil & gas and if somebody skewers somebody else then the recipient got a tongue lashing that'd make a Marine blush.

I can't help myself, I'm getting on my soap box about the overhyped weather.
  • My Dad lives in the Upper Midwest and they now name every winter storm. 2" of snow there is a normal day, but they try to make people so damn fearful that they don't leave the house. Load up on groceries so your house doesn't have to resort to turning into the Donner Party and watch us breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime to get updates. They usually get at least 50% less snow than forecast.
  • I live in an area prone to Gulf Coast hurricanes. Shitbag meteorologists will take an obscure hurricane model that's never been right 3 days out, and will go on the news with it 21 days out about the model showing a tropical depression turning into another historic Cat 5 mankiller so watch us breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime to get updates. Half the time it doesn't even turn into an actual tropical storm, and 99.9% of the time the ones that do turn TS don't even enter the Gulf.

I’m with you. When I would see the same links, I thought I’d be getting something similar to Ann Coulter’s shredding of Katie Couric. But, they are usually so lame, they’re not worth reading or watching. I just ignore them now.

My beef is with weather apps. I have two on my phone and have notifications turned off for both.

It would be nice to get an alert that there was a tornado about to touch down, but if weather alerts are turned on, I get worthless alerts Every. Single. Day. Mad
