rtquigYes. I stepped on a garden rake.
This happened about 30 years ago while working a refuel outage at Perry Nuclear power plant in Ohio.
My work partner and I were assigned to decon a diver that had to dive in the reactor to retrieve tools that were accidentally dropped in it.
The diver had a lead sheet that would be put in the reactor with him that would help shield him from radiation. Surprisingly, the diver didn't get a large dose of radiation and the water in the reactor helped shield him.
When we got up to the reactor floor the job was behind schedule and we were told to hang out until go time.
We chose to go under the reactor lid which was sitting on cribb8ng and take a quick nap. We did not pick up any dose as it was decontaminated.
We wake up to the P.A. system calling us to work. I crawled out from under the lid, didn't have my hard hat on and stood up. The damn sheet of lead was suspended by a crane and when I stood up hit my head on it so hard I was knocked out.
Ambulance came, they lined the interior with plastic as they also lined the ER room I was put in.
Slight concussion. Off paid from work for 2 weeks. Boss was a good guy, never busted my chops over it.

asteirmanA funny range incident. I was stapling a target to the target stand and held the backing and stapled my finger to the target. Somewhat embarrassing at a regional IDPA match with all my shooting buddies there. Hard to live that one down till one of buddies who was a fed did the same thing a few years later. Every time you shoot together it’s “ Did you bring some band aids ?”
