The NFL needs to go back to grass. Injuries are just constant anymore. Grass would help a fair amount I do believe. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Are you referring to the Ravens player that got hurt tonight? IIRC, that stadium is natural turf.

I was actually saying it because I was admiring the natural turf. I have saying this about the injuries since about half way through last season. Last night made me eat some crow as there were a few injuries. We certainly need Burrow healthy. Sucks though. One reason I hate Thursday night games these fellas just don’t have enough recovery time. Maybe it’s not the turf and Chad Johnson is right, it’s their healthy diets that are causing it. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Bring back playing in a snowstorm so thick you can't pass the ball. Bring back having everyone so covered in mud that you can't tell the color of the jerseys. So long as it's not *me* falling on that frozen ground again. === I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I am sure that natural turf is much more expensive to maintain. I do not know the exact figures Concerts can be held in outdoor venues as well.

If they can pay a player $100 million/year the throw a ball around, I suspect that they can afford a lawnmower. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

If the sport was played purely during the fair weather months then there would be less of a reason to have artificial turf. Don't think maintenance costs considering their revenue streams are a real issue.

A lot of stadiums are indoor so they would have to do that tray system which is a ton of work. But I agree with the amount you’re paying these guys you don’t really want to lose them to an avoidable injury.

Savor the limelight |
Apparently, State Farm Stadium in Arizona has a retractable playing field, the tray system 1s1k referred to: "The natural grass playing surface is contained in a single tray, measuring 234 feet wide and 403 feet long, with a depth of 40 inches. The field rolls on 546 steel wheels, gliding on 13 railroad-like tracks. In just 70 minutes, at the push of a button, the field can be moved 740 feet in or out of the stadium." Link The grass doesn't get enough sunlight inside the stadium even with the roof open, so they move the entire field outside. I had no idea such a thing existed.
