Winner!!!! Have a guy in my dept. that is nothing but traffic. Nothing else in the world matters except traffic. Can hardly function as a cop if not in a traffic context and is all about writing chicken shit tickets. A while ago someone checked the stats and found that he and I were neck in neck in traffic stops. However, I wrote maybe a quarter of the tickets he did and had a metric crap ton more warrant, dope, dui, weapons, etc... arrests. Stuff I think cops should be doing. Traffic is a means to an end in my opinion. Now the traffic specialists and the motor cops will disagree I am very sure.

This has been my experience as well (and it's why I'm always saying 'real po-leece don't need radar')

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Lots of good/bad here. I have had the pleasure of driving on I25 north of Denver the last few days. I have seen at least 5 vehicles going in excess of 100 mph swapping lanes and almost causing accidents, and I have seen ZERO CSP vehicles and not a single vehicle pulled over. I guess they are all down south or up north saving those lives, because it must be too dangerous to work I25. As mentioned in a different thread, home has certainly changed, and not for the better. I just don't know where a good place to live can be found these days.

It sure would be sweet if folks would put their phones down, set their alarm clocks for a little earlier, and take the time to enjoy life, not rush through it.

On my infrequent motorcycle rides to Sturgis from Tucson, I avoid I-25 in NM, instead using route 71, east of I-25. Route 71 is two lane with very little traffic.

I'd love to contest it but it's not a realistic option. It would probably cost me 4-5 times the fine in gas and lodging to travel from Phoenix to show up for court in Colorado not to mention the time involved. Arizona is one of 6 states that is not in the driver's license compact, as long as I pay the fine, it does not go onto my record.

Are you sure Arizona isn't in the compact? I just googled and everything I've seen says it is.
