Leaving Church on Sunday, we were heading back home. I made a right turn, as soon as you turn there a right lane opens up to turn in to the Kroger. The car in front of me went in to that right turn lane, I start passing and the idiot does a u turn from that right lane. I couldn't slow down in time and hit her left rear just behind left rear door. She completes her u turn and stops in the road. I turn left in to a closed CVS and proceed to turn around. Before I can finish she takes off. The wife says to chase her down I was thinking about letting them go cause I had video. Anyway, I chase here for about a mile and a half doing 100+ she realizes she can't out run me and pulls in to a church parking lot
I'm in a 2025 Silverado 1500 Duramax and she's in a 2012 Genesis sedan

She gets out and is yelling at me. "why did you hit me, I have kids in the car" Because you did a u turn in front of me, She says she didn't, I called her a lying sack of shit and tell her I have it on video.

We call the police and it takes about 10 minutes for him to arrive. I tried getting my dash cam to pull up the video, no luck, the menu is not working. He informs me that as of now I will be cited. "For What!" Nothing. We call our daughter to bring my laptop from home to see if I can pull up the video, nothing. Something about the card being compromised. FUCK!

Next thing I know a fire truck and ambulance show up. I guess the mom of the year told the police man that her to children have headaches and such. They leave pretty quickly after checking on the kids, not taking the kids

Police man says he tried pulling up street cameras near the scene but the one he saw did not show the accident. He say no fault either way.

I asked him if I could get the video can I get it to him. He says no, get it to your insurance company and let them handle it. Huh? I asked him if he was going to cite the lady for fleeing. He say he will handle her



I get the report today and it says he said/she said. She got a citation for her car not being registered only. That kind of pissed me off. I am in the process of trying to contact the officer to get him my videos of the accident and her fleeing. I was able to get them pulled up at work on the PC. I will escalate this if I have to. I have his precinct info. This is the County Police

I already ordered and received a new dashcam

He said/she said & her Equinox was in the body shop for a few weeks.

this is why once a month i check my
memory cards and do a format. i also keep a cheap laptop in the car with some cheap usb drives in case i have to give evidence.

I was told to NEVER tell the other person you have a dash cam because they will change their story to police and insurance company.

It’s a classic he said/she said. The officer is not going to write tickets for things he did not witness. You both left the scene of the accident.

I hope you get the video because she is going to get a lawyer and they are going to go after you.

I’d delete your post and hope you didn’t tell the officer how you responded.

She probably didn't have a DL or insurance or both which is why she fled.

Now that you have the video, demand it be part of evidence. If not, I’d get a damn lawyer on principle so that this would not affect my insurance premiums and record. I deal with this sort of shit every single day I drive anywhere. These people still have Covid brain.

I called the precinct twice, left a message the first time and got a person the second time. She said the officer would call me tomorrow

The officer did call, he said he wasn't going to take the video with an evidence link, not changing the report. Told him I wasn't accepting that

I also asked him why he didn't cite her for fleeing the scene, he said a hit and run is only when you don't find the person. I told him he was full of shit and quite biased toward me

I called and left a message for his supervisor to call me. Before he called me I got the evidence link and sent in my videos. The supervisor called me and asked me what the deal is, I told him and he said the officer will review the videos and possibly change his report if it shows her at fault. I also told him about the bias toward me and the favoritism toward the POS that turned in front of me.

The officer called me the next day to tell me the report is changed showing her at fault and citing her for the illegal turn

Wait, she lied to the officer and said you were at fault, etc.

That's not just a traffic incident. It should be more than that. Obstruction or false accusations or whatever. She should be charged w/ whatever fits to make her think twice about lying ever again.

But for the video, she almost not only got off w/ the accident, you almost got charged for fault.

Good for you man. NOT taking just fucking taking it. This world and society, fuck me. Thanks for posting this though. It restores some faith in humanity for me. Every single drive I make Swede, it’s this same shit. Without all my track days, on 2 wheels and 4 wheels. Without all the professional instruction over the last few decades, I could literally get in a wreck, not my fault, every time I drive, and I’m sick of it. So many, their minds are just gone. They don’t respect the death and destruction they can cause on the roads. If they hit you they say “It’s just a car!” Well dipshit, even if I can prove you are at fault…the damn insurance company, you have to fight them. Fight them to pay the full bill/freight. If they total my vehicle, what happens when it’s something no longer made and I cannot realistically replace? Or what happens if I can replace it, it costs me $10k, 20k, or more to replace it and that’s after the insurance pay out? Shit like that lady pulled, should be a few days in jail. Our laws let them off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, if you are lucky to even get that. This driving behavior is tolerated by all and should be no tolerance. In a decade or more it’s going to mean freedom removed where the newer cars and trucks will just drive themselves because people are that fucking stupid. What kind of got damn moron turns right, instantly says no that isn’t right and initiates a u-turn illegally, and doesn’t even check the mirrors for traffic behind. It’s certifiable.

I get not taking your word for it when you initially couldn't provide video, but I'd have amended it once video was available.

She should have been charged with leaving the scene, but you both could have been charged with reckless driving when you chased her like that. There's the speed issue and your video also shows you failing to stop at the red light before making a right turn to go after her.

You probably would have been better off just staying at the scene and providing the video. Risking an altercation or crash over a property damage accident just isn't worth it. That's what insurance is for.

Same thing, literally to a T. I cut out 5 people over the last 12 months and I was right to do so. I’d rather be alone for the right reasons than be with people for the wrong ones.

Yeah I ran into the same thing here, just not with traffic. House on the end of my street was sold. “Kali” couple bought it but buster husband couldn’t get a job here. So they leased it out and an Indian kid is living there, dots not feathers, and he has traffic coming in and out of there all day and night. Routinely 6 cars/trucks parked out front and traffic all day and night into the wee hours of the early morning. One night (posted a thread on here about it) they put the house on the internet for a party. It looked like a nightclub on my street. Dozens walking down the sidewalks at once. Whole street full of cars. Big party busses that hold 20 people were rolling in to pick people up, drop people off. Same as you, PD scared like some bitches to do anything for fearing “racism” claims, or getting put on the social medias. I’m on the phone with them multiple times and they told me without verbatim telling me they are scurrred and can’t do anything. Back when I was 16, 21, whatever, LE would show up, and yell at whomever “Shut it the fuck down!” Etc. Shit was over. Now they let all this shit go on because of the last 5-6 woke years. It sucks.
