Wanted to order their Liberator HP 2.0 hearing protection. Got the total (item + tax) and free shipping. Went to pay, and at the pay window, the total jumped $7 more. What’s the deal? Did not complete the transaction. Seven dollars might not be much, but I don’t like them sneaking in additional charge with zero explanation.

Did they change the shipper or delivery date between cart and checkout? I've had that happen on other sites, and on ordinary stuff.

Also, a fair amount of places are now offering and pre-selecting insurance or extended warranties. I'm sure you would've noted any of these discrepancies, but that's all I can think of.

It’s free shipping, so whether they change shipper doesn’t matter. And there’s no evidence they did, anyway. Everything was spelled out, with the total. Then when they took me to the actual pay page, *BOOM*, seven extra dollars were added to the total. And on this page, that’s all you see, the total. You simply have no idea where the extra came from. Roll Eyes Tried it with Apple Pay and then with PayPal, same thing happened.

Did the sales tax amount change?
I went to the site and dropped some stuff into the cart.

When I went to check out, I chose guest checkout and the estimated sales tax was different than if I went in as a known user where my address was known.

And it was about a $7 and change difference.

^^^ That makes no sense. Sales taxes are based on the shipping address. So, there can be no difference whether checking out as guest or as known member.

Anyway, strangest thing happened. I deleted everything and started over, went through the same steps and now, the extra charge is gone. (Tried both as guest and as known member). A glitch in their matrix, I guess.
