It’s a very weird ad, starts out with a black mom raising a boy, then switches to a white mom kissing her boy goodnight, then for some reason she calls ADT, and two seconds later a police cruiser shows up.
The tag line “When every second counts….ADT”
Groooaaaaaannn.

I guess they’ve moved on from all the home invaders and porch pirates who are white guys wearing hoodies. Never, never not ever a black kid in a hoodie.

Two seconds later? It only happens in TV land. ADT sucks.

The funny thing is, it'd actually be slower to call ADT like the commercial apparently featured than to just call the police yourself, by introducing an unnecessary middleman. ADT doesn't have some special priority phone connection or the ability to dispatch the cops themselves... If you were to pick up a phone and call ADT, all they'd do is then turn around and call your local police like you could have done directly in the first place.

I'm honestly surprised you've never heard of ADT. It's the largest home security system company in the nation, and has been since at least the 1960s.
