GustoferLight bulbs
Haysoos Kristo!
Remember the days when when you needed a light bulb you could just walk into the store and grab one off the shelf for your desired wattage? The were pretty much all the same and they worked great.
Now there's 147 different kinds of light bulbs with all different kinds of light and it's driving me fargin crazy!
I need to replace the can lights in my kitchen. The ones I put in ten years ago (shaped like a flood light only with a fluorescent coil inside) worked great so I thought I'd just go grab a few of them and replace all four. They are no longer made though. It appears that my choices are now LED or LED. So, I bought some LEDs. Got them home and damn near blinded myself with them. Took them out, back into town, and returned them for something with a different "shade" of light. Got those home and put them in and...it looked like I was in a lab and not a kitchen. Took them out, back into town, and returned them for a different set. Same fookin story.

Jesus, can I just get a set of damn light bulbs that give me nice lighting? Please?
Dammit!

HRKYep, went through that yesterday at Lowes, instead of a small section of bulbs it's now a whole aisle with different LED color spectrums, dimmable or not, different wattage per color, indoor, outdoor, small base, normal base....

oldbill123Local Costco just marked down the "old" LED's. New bulbs have a switch on the side to select whatever color temp you want

RCYes
Anymore it’s Led or Led
Yes
Look for the one with a switch to change the color and also sure they are dimmable
A lot of them will still be to bright and you will need to buy an Led dimmer switch to tone them done further

But that means that I'd need to go into a WalMart.

PASigWhat's interesting is that the very newest LED bulbs I bought look almost exactly like the old incandescent bulbs now. No more big base and white plastic light cover, the entire bulb is clear glass down to the metal screw base with LED "filaments" inside.
