Nobody wanted her. Turned in by previous owners to a shelter, she languished for four months in a cage at a pet store, where we saw her every time we bought kitty litter for our small brood. It got so that my girlfriend refused to go into the store and pass by the cage, so I had to shop there myself, and one day I just couldn't stand her sad decline, weight loss, etc. I went home and said, "We're taking her!"
There was an adjustment period, during which she acted up if I didn't clean the litter pans on her schedule, but she is now the sweetest pet one could ask for.
That was eight years ago, eight years towards "Happily Ever After."
