Here's a wonderful photo of a recent rescue by one of our forum members who brought this little guy off the streets and into his home and heart. What a wonderful deed. He emailed it to me and hope he doesn't mind that I posted it, you can only imagine how much better this little kitty's life is today by a kind deed of a stranger, and it couldn't be more clear than in this photo..

SBrooksboth of our dogs (1 past, 1 present) and all but one of 4 cats (3 past, 1 still here) were all rescues. It just doesn't make much sense to pay for an animal when there are so many good and free ones that need a home...
And they do seem to be more loving and thankful. I can only imagine how nice it must be, after living on the streets, to have a warm dry bed and plenty of food and water - and a loving pat on the head when needed...

One summer in Alaska, I rented a RV for a week. My buddy backed out at the last minute so I brought Splash RVing. One campground was on the bank of the Klutina River and there was less than 15' from the nose of the RV to the river. It was only about a mile from the campground to the world famous salmon runs on the Copper River so the Klutina had great red (aka sockeye salmon) fishing. Splash sat on the dash of the RV and watched myself and others catch reds a few feet from her. She didn't care for riding in the moving RV, but she loved watching fishing and enjoyed "camping" in the RV.
