In my multiple cat days, I had a large adult male cat and at some point, a kitten got included in the mix. For about a year, the kitten would pester the older cat. The older cat would tolerate it briefly, then whip the kitten's ass thoroughly. The kitten would then be pinned down and given a tongue bath. Translation: I like you, but don't piss me off.
