IMO, your post of LoudMouth is perfect here.

Sorry your friend is no longer on this side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Godspeed, Loudmouth! Say "hi" to Dinky and Bear for me.

Oh, and keep hiding the expensive stuff.

Cheers to Loudmouth, blessed cat who has gone on.

This is the perfect place to memorialize her, I put Ashton here when she passed as well. In fact I hope my little Ashton is showing her around right now.

So, here's to you Loudmouth for all those years of being a devil in your younger days , and mellowing out and becoming a great companion and lap cat. You will be greatly missed those evenings I am reading and wondering why you arent in my lap sleeping happily.
Two other felines here, Inky, my tomcat, who hates being inside and Fluffy , the old gray tabby, who is a loner.
I realize this is not the normal humorous posting in the cat thread, but want to thank the forum for bearing with me for this. I think its great seeing what has been posted here for 172 pages.
Oh, LoudMouth was the thief here, she had paws like hands, often stealing rings...fun time when she dropped wife's diamond ring down the heat duct.

Sweet looking kitteh. You gave her 14 extra years.Rescue pets rule.

RIP Loudmouth.

Medic451, My great-grandmother would've gone crazy with that pic, screaming out something about how cats steal babies breath. But she was from the old-country mountains of Poland and more likely than not believed in Vampires, Werewolves and in her later years, the miraculous cure all, Windex.

Edit: Can't start a new page w/o a picture. I installed a new toilet today, I took the box out to the garage and came back to this not 30 secs later. Guess it got his stamp of approval. Now if I could just teach them how to use it so I didn't need to deal with their litterbox I'd be set.

I know cats do Not think like people, but you just have to wonder what he is thinking based on his expression.

Having owned cats for many years, I imagine that cat is thinking: Human, my throne is satisfactory are you now ready to worship me while I sit upon it. Later you can bring me some tuna and if it pleases me I will let you scratch my head.

According to an anthrozoologist, cats think of humans as large, stupid cats. Razz

quote:

Scientist: Cats think their owner is an overgrown oaf of a cat
NEW YORK -- Anyone who’s ever owned a cat has probably wondered if their pet thinks of them as another cat.

It turns out they do, albeit a clumsy, overgrown oaf of a cat, according to a British biologist, reports CBS Connecticut.

Dr. John Bradshaw has studied felines for 30 years and has just released a book titled Cat Sense in which he traces the evolution of the cat/human relationship.

He notes that cats were never bred for companionship they way that dogs were.

Cats sort of adopted us and got used to hunting the rats and vermin that fed on the discarded food of early humans.

Bradshaw says cats live in a partly feral state and are not quite domesticated.

But just what is that builds those powerful bonds between cat owners and their furry friends?

It turns out cats treat humans as though they were the mama cat.

When a cat rubs against you with its tail straight in the air, it is checking to make sure you are not hostile.

Purring is associated with feeding as kittens and if a cat “kneads” you, that’s how it used to get milk from its mother.

Bradshaw says one sign cats are still mostly wild is that they will go out to breed with feral cats.

But he worries about the future of felines. CNET reports Bradshaw says ”cats now face possibly more hostility than at any time during the last two centuries.”

So remember next time your cat jumps on those clothes you just took out of the drier, he thinks you put it there for him.

When life closes a door, open it. It's a door. That's how they work.

It's silly. I've never known a black cat that wasn't as friendly as a puppy, but maybe it's just me.

The supermajority of the time I agree, but my aunt and uncle had an indoor black cat that wasn't friendly. Only cat I've ever met in my life that didn't like me, and it barely liked my aunt and uncle.

true about the color, local animal league/shelters have a hard time adopting them out,

we picked up a jet black kitten on labor day, she rolled down and embankment and infront of the wife's car,,
no one would claim her in the houses in the area (less than 1/4 mile from our home) so we did,

thinking she was tossed from a car, she had a bloody scuff mark on her chin ,

very friendly cat, and fearless

Black cats may be the least adopted, but I know one that has a loving home. Ava is my kitteh's name. She's a rescue and she is jet black. The wife and I love her. She's a delight to have around. She's at my feet right now.

It pains me to think of all the unwanted cats and dogs in the world, but any one person can do so very little about this.
