Recently visited Mackinac Island. In case you guys have not done this, picture a line of people about a half mile long, waiting to get on a tightly packed boat to the Island. And the number of dogs of all types in the line is amazing. Lots of dog to dog action, not all of it friendly.
There are just some places you should not take a dog. Mackinac Island is one of them. Roll Eyes

I was driving down the street today and saw a lady walking a little Pomeranian on a leash. That little thing was losing it's mind, eyes bugging out, straining against that leash, front legs off the ground, yapping and snarling it's little head off at every car that went by.

God bless her, I don't know how she puts up with a dog like that. I couldn't do it. To her credit, she kept control of it and didn't let it go after people, but as an owner that behavior would annoy the hell out of me.

My grandmother had a little terror called 'Bing' - a toy Manchester Terrier. The house was full of people so it had no excuse for being anti-social. The only two things it tolerated in the universe were my grandmother and a full food bowl. Hyperactive and full of attitude.

The good news was this was before the current 'must take my precious pet everywhere, goodness me' was a thing, so it only misbehaved at her house, which it never left.

A misbehaved dog is right behind a misbehaved child…only cause the child can understand more.

And I don’t fault the dog ever. Mine are young and energetic breeds so they aren’t the best around other dogs or people. So what do I do? Keep em in fucking leash or avoid the situation.

And the folks that treat dogs LIKE children are the worst, you can love em but they ain’t people. Discipline them like an animal, not like a GD toddler. Ain’t no counting, giggling, or silly ass talk with a dog.

Sorry for the dive off the deep end. But this is a real pet peeve of mine.
