Just more proof that medicine is an industry. If you get better, that’s an unintended consequence

Sure. That's the oath that all doctors swear to. All doctors. You know, like Fauci.

His position facilitated his ability to harm (vs. "do no harm") a lot more people than any doctor who deals with patients on a face-to-face basis.

Hypocrit vs Hippocratic.

If your erection is prolonged (lasts longer than 4 hours), seek urgent treatment. Unless you are in a hotel room in Las Vegas, just dropped $2,000 on some hookers and blow, then drop another pill...

The drug industry has taken a dangerous side effect and turned it into a selling point. If your erection lasts that long emergency treatment is needed. A needle needs to be inserted to drain the blood to avoid permanently damaging your penis. g

My favorite stupid drug commercials are the ones that don't even say what they are used for. It's just some person on screen saying, "I take bobblydebeeb." That's it. That's the whole ad. Not even a list of side effects. WTF?

I am relaxed. You need to tune your humor skills to stuff that might be funny.

"I expect they do, otherwise pharma wouldn't spend bazillions of dollars on the advertising. People probably see the advert and have that "Eureka!" moment and go see the doc when they otherwise wouldn't bother."

Big Pharma spends WAY more on advertising than R&D

Correct. AbbVie spent $11 billion on sales and marketing in 2020, compared to $8 billion on R&D. Pfizer spent $12 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $9 billion on R&D. Novartis spent $14 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $9 billion on R&D.

Years ago there was NO advertising on TV and the print ads were in JAMA and the like. The government created the problem.

Caused by the government who is bought and paid for by big Pharma.

Just helping. Wink

I believe the US is one of only two countries that allow pharma to advertise directly to patients. IMO it should be zero. Hate the ads!

The listed side effects ALWAYS include the symptoms or signs of the disease in question too . . .
