This totally. Set up a bike to crash and as soon as he rides off you leave. What's he going to do, call the cops that he tried to steal a shitty bike?

Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

An update. Nothing happening. Nothing going to happen.

The Boy called the local PD and they advised him he had to file the report in the jurisdiction where it occurred. OK, so he called them. They instructed him to meet them at the scene of the crime and when to meet! WTF! Do they want him accosted again!!! BUT he did as asked. (by the way this is over 100 mile round trip) He arrived early and waited two full hours and the cops were a no show. So he drives over to the precinct. The guy there tells him an officer just went by but left the scene because no one was there. Tells him he is welcome to make another appointment.

Sigh...

Collecting dust.

Sorry to hear about this. If it were me, I would be contacting the local newspaper there, explaining that the local pd seems less than willing to even take the report. What’s even more troubling is that there is a photo of the thief and still nothing being done. This is exactly why crooks like this keep doing it, no fear of punishment

The Local TV station loves stories like this. Our Sports Reporter became the Investigative Reporter after Katrina leveled our area and unscrupulous contractors ripped off poor and elderly people. A story about a kid would be perfect. Of course, more REAL HARD news may happen in your area. Heck, even WGN in Chicago does stories like this.
