What's your point? Is it that you think Trump somehow personally commissioned them to be made in China at a profit to himself, or the more important, overarching point that we outsource far too much manufacturing to China? This message has been edited. Last edited by: egregore,

Those that think this is so bad should look in the mirror and see how many Chinese products they buy and own. Just an opinion.

How did you think this thread was going to go, honestly?

Was this post hijacked from something that originated from an anti-Trump website?

After buying a pair of MAGA hats (at a gun show, no less) I discovered Made in China tags inside them. What a kick in the nuts that was! No I don't blame Trump, it's those @#$%^&* Chinese knock-off artists.

To get a Bible made here like that would take a 6 months and each would cost $150 each if there even IS a printing company left that could fill the order.
Be angry with the companies that closed down industries there and shipped them over to China, not Trump.

As long as products are clearly marked or labeled with Country of Origin (COO), everything is fair game. I personally choose not to buy products from China.

Have seen this a lot in the knife forums, brings a lot of heated opinions, too.
Made in China vs. made in US.
As has already been noted, big business chose to relocate their lines overseas years ago for their own profit at the cost of losing on-shore capability - but they don't care. From what I've seen its now prohibitively expensive to try to have slipjoint knives made here in any quantity (unless its Case). Wouldn't be surprised to know book printing similar.
I guess its easy picking though if you want to try and use that as a slam-dunk on a politician you don't like.

Never ceases to amaze me how people get mad at companies for making a profit. That is WHY they are in business.
Lets break this down. A company Trump owns sells bibles. They have them made in China for $3 and sell them here for $59.99.
I'll guess the going price on a bible would be around $60. So, if he had them made here he could pay $90 (including manufacture, marketing & distribution) for each and at best sell them for $65 and lose money. He could also be a good doobie and pay $3 for them and sell them for $10, at which point people would freak out for him low balling everyone.
You don't become a billionaire and successful business man by making dumb decisions. If he made horrible business decisions, would you want him as President?

This is one reason why I don't get too hung up about consciously trying to NOT buy PRC-sourced stuff these days. The stuff is everywhere and is near completely impossible to avoid. One look at all of the electronics in front of me on this desk I'm sitting is all it takes.
Rich guys get rich by doing shit like outsourcing and offshoring their work; they want the best margins so it's not going to stop anytime soon. However it IS ironic that such a hedonistic crapper of a commie-fueled government allows its internal business ventures to print and sell such slanderous and "evil" (to them) publications of biblical proportions that could undermine the whole totalitarian Marxist way of human suppression. And likely collect taxes off of it as well. So unthinkable not so long ago.
