Due to the wonderful China virus and uncertainty about slowing the spread (we are currently on day TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY of the 15 days to slow the spread) the cowards and fucking dipshits who organize the IOM TT have decided to channel all the courage they can muster and decided to canceled the event yet again. Words fail to express the anger and frustration I have at this incredibly cowardly decision. At this point fuck them and fuck their stupid race. Just cancel it forever you stupid assholes, after all it’s an event that has a spectator body count in the hundreds! That isn’t safe. Let alone the fact that it kills a participant almost every year. Time to just close up shop for good. Link to article about this bullshit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Thank you Very little |
Most likely we are going to have to settle into this stupidity for a long time, COVID or whatever viral infection is going to be the new control method worldwide. Look at peoples reactions today, you have those that don't fear the reaper and just as many who have a real fear of COVID, young and old, people who will automatically social distance from you. But even those without fear are being ostracised in public, you fail to conform and you get outed, shamed. Saw it this weekend in Lowes, a couple were maskless outside in the garden area and were leaving, the lady in front of me gave them a dirty look, shook her head and looked for a manager to complain. It's back in the USSR... Historic methods of human contact have been drastically if not irreparably changed. Used to be you man'd up and dealt with adversity, today you succumb to any and all threats be they viral, virtual, or political and submit. Used to be when you met someone they were welcomed with a hardy handshake, today we are conditioned to retreat and avoid all physical contact. A large part of humanity has been altered, I'm not sure we'll ever see it again, there's too much control, power and money in keeping people locked down.. and Americans dropping in lock step with the demands without revolution is simply disheartening.. Nonetheless back to your comment, yeah it's BS each time someone falls under the auspices of COVIDISM, another step backward occurs...

I hope history remembers and always views the organizers of 2020 & 2021 IOM TT as the cowards, losers and wannabe authoritarians that they are. Fuck every last one of them. I mean that. No one is forcing ANYONE to go to that event. The riders who participate do so knowing the risk. The same should go for the spectators and vendors etc. Are we free to live our lives or not? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

half-genius, half-wit |
Since it was first raced 112 years ago, 270 people - riders, officials, spectators, bystanders - have died on the Mountain Course.

thin skin can't win |
Pfft. The spectators aren't even in the middle the road there. FF to about 1:30. Link to original video: https://youtu.be/B865sknWdhw It's amazing WRC has only accounted for 5 spectator deaths and 24 drivers. Some of the accidents are epic. Of course a cage is an improvement over a bike going off a cliff.... You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

The real question is if a motorcyclist goes flying into a stone wall and has Covid did he die of Covid or the sudden stop.

Has more to do with the Island than the race. The island is a very tight knit community so I’m not surprised. I’ll be pissed when the island government caves to the whiners and pussies about the race of which there have been many over the years. Been watching it since the King rode there. Still miss the guy too. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Just for the hell of it |
I agree with Prefontaine that it's about the island and community. Still find it very ironic. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain. Jack Kerouac

Bunch of savages in this town |
It was also canceled in 2001 because of Hoof and Mouth Disease. I can understand why a small island population would not want a large crowd of people showing up. It’s on my bucket list to see, and I’m not even comfortable getting on an airplane at this point. In the meantime, watch this a few dozen times. https://youtu.be/ATOEd4dLrSY ----------------- I apologize now...

Riders know the risk, and still do a million miles an hour, risking their lives. I'm sure if you ask any rider, they'll be fine with weighing the risk of Da Rona. In your initial rant, you said "...and fuck their stupid race!"... Naaaa, here's where I gotta stop you. The organizers, yes. The RACE, oh hell no! That's one of the most balls to the wall, all out, full throttle things you can do on 2 wheels. The RACE is about skill, knowing how to ride, knowing your machine, knowing the road. The RACE has nothing to do with some fucking over-rated virus. The cancellation is all on the assholes that organized it. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. While I am deeply bummed that this historic race will yet again be delayed I know it will come back. It's organizers are the ones who are silly. Looking forward to seeing what insane 2 wheelers can do I cannot, as the race will return. Cheers~
