Picked up a Lenovo Yoga 720 151KB. So far liking it. Gave the HP Envy to my next door neighbors 17 year old computer geek son to play with. Hopefully he can get it going and get some use out of it. Next step is acquiring a DVD read/write drive since this contraption does not have one on board.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need a DVD drive? I never use the drive on my laptop.

re-write drives are essential for creating a system restore disk now that they aren't provided by the computer manufacturers. They are also essential if you need to write an ISO disk to install certain Apps or features for some Apps.

I've stopped counting.

You will find a USB stick is the way to go now. Otherwise you need several DVD's for the modern OS.

You can do ISO to USB sticks. I just did this a month ago to recover a system. Worked great!

PSA: If anyone has not made restore media, do it now.

I have a lot of files and photos backed up on DVDs and CDs. I don't use cloud or any other online storage. Don't believe in it and don't believe it's as secure as they say. Will still need a drive to transfer those files to Thumb/Flash drive any way. Also have huge collection of music CDs that I upload to my computer to download to my MP3 player that I still use. I buy the music CDs instead of buying on line because I own the music instead of renting it. Also I have a huge collection of movie DVDs that I pick from to watch when I'm up at the cabin I go to in New Mexico. No streaming service or cell phone service there. Sheesh, LOL!!!! I have valid reasons here.
