I literally spent an hour last week to post 3 measly pictures. I did it though. Figured out the right settings, sizes, everything I needed. I thought. I go back on today to post a picture of a knife. I upload it. Everything on the site is different now. I can make a meme. I can make a post. What I can’t do all of a sudden is host a picture. I’m looking at the picture but all the options to post a photo on a site are gone. What the fuck did I do wrong?





Deleted everything. Deleted app. Went to Imgur through safari. Opened new account. Worked kinda. Picture is weird size. Is using the app the problem?

I was trying to post pics from the imgur app and could not find the code. I did a search and found something in there FAQ or somewhere that said you can only do it from the website, not the app. I've not tried to do it from the browser on my phone. Some sites only seem to load the mobile version so I can't be sure that would help.

The app has been garbage for awhile, imo, but the desktop website is very easy and has a lot of options. I only ever use the desktop site now, even on my phone.

I’m on my iPad. Is that an issue? I try to go to imgur.com and it won’t let me sign in it keeps telling me to “get the app”. Which doesn’t work.

I don't use iPads, but all phone/tablet browsers should have the ability to display a website in "desktop mode". Basically, rather than trying to alter the site for mobile/tablet-specific browsing, it will then display the site just as if you were on a desktop or laptop computer.

Used to be, if you create a free Imageshack account for the 30 day trial, you should receive an offer for 50% off ($18.99/year) if you buy a membership before the trial ends. That price then stays as your annual rate with each yearly renewal.

That deal may or may not still be in place.

Yeah, mine's the same. But a new member may or may not be able to get that same rate. They may have discontinued offering that deal, and you and I are just grandfathered in.

Edit! Okay.......there it went!!

Imgur app sucks, it's good for uploading images from your iDevice, and nothing more.

When you upload, be sure to set the image to hidden, so it's not a public post.

Then go on the desktop to resize, rotate and copy the link to paste. Works good enough for the price...

The price indeed is nice. I don’t post pictures enough to pay for the privilege. Lol

Posted another pic have another complaint.

Literally each time I go on desktop version (only thing that works) the presentation is different. I push the same sequence of inputs yet I get a different result. You finally get the shareable links and there is a big copy next to it. Doesn’t work. You have to highlight and copy.

I know it’s free but for fucks sake.



It also sometimes won’t access my photos. Sometimes yes sometimes no. I had to take that picture because today it won’t access photos. Sheesh.

Just uploaded an image from my iFone via the app, went to the web page, edited the image (cropped) and then used the copy button to grab the URL.

When you click copy it just copies the line, you get a quick flash of a highlight, nothing stays highlighted. Perhaps you're not seeing the flash, frankly until you said something I really didn't notice the flash. Went back and looked.

But it does copy the URL, use the Direct Link line, click copy, then go to SF and paste..

I’ve tried. I hit the button go to the reply page and there is no “paste” which means nothing got copied. The app doesn’t work at all for me. No way to even copy the link. It will let me make a meme but that’s it.

I’m using an older iPad, I wonder if that’s part of the problem.
