It sure does. Hopefully it's not a clear liquid and broth diet. Frown

During a hospital stay, I was told that I could only have clear liquids for a day or three.

I placed my order for a martini. It doesn't get much clearer than that.

Somehow, they did not agree with my logic.

The worst part is when they tell you "if you don't evacuate your bowels you won't get released". Well, I've had 3 cups of nasty broth and 2 cups of lousy jello in the past 48 hours, what am I supposed to shit?

I just need to remember that nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

I am not sure I could do a diet.

I have a hard time staying away from foods that are hard on me.

I lost a quarter the other day when I dropped some change. Tell them that if they find one, it's probably mine.

Well when you're pushing 370 lbs at 6 feet tall you can look at things differently.

I know you weren't looking for a sermon, but here's a short one...

First off, yes, "dieting" does suck.

Second, read these two books: Why We Get Fat, and What to do About it, and The Obesity Code.

Here's some heavy shit: you are fat because of the amount of sugar and carbs we consume in the standard Western diet. It is NOT because you overeat.

I have been living the hardcore low-carb (No Sugar No Grains, specifically) life since my birthday in Dec. '16. In just over two months, I have dropped 26 lbs. I do not feel deprived. I do not feel like I am suffering. In fact, I feel awesome. Most days, I don't even feel like having lunch.

My low-carb journey started at 370 lbs two years ago, and got me to about 350 lbs. This was more of the Atkins-style, where artificial sweeteners are ok. I knew I had to make a more drastic change, so I got on The Google. I found out about Dr. Fung and Gary Taubes. Through the Adam Carolla podcast, I found out about Vinnie Tortorich and NSNG. This morning I was 324 lbs.

Artificial sugars, added sugars, grains, they all cause you to produce too much insulin. Too much insulin leads to weight gain. Cut it all out, become fat-adapted. Start some intermittent fasting, and you will lose all kinds of weight without feeling deprived of anything.

The hardest part is the first week. You need to power through.

Read those books. Look up some of Dr. Fung's talks and podcasts. They WILL change your life.

It does but you will adapt. Last May, at the age of 50, I started weight watchers because that's what my wife was doing. Basically portion control and cutting out the junk/sugars/sweets. So far I've lost 63 pounds and have not fuelt this good in years. I'm at 230 lbs now. Blood pressure, heartburn, sore knees, all those issues resolved so the suck of dieting was worth it to me. Point being, if I can do it, anyone can. Good luck.

I don't diet. I just make healthy eating a lifestyle. Makes it much easier.

Yep. Choose a diet that you can live with the rest of your life. Not just one that you can lose xx pounds while you follow it. So I guess the point is if you think dieting sucks then what you really need to do really sucks. (I know first hand)
