In the process of researching options and prices for my building project, I've sent emails to three different outfits. NONE OF THEM HAS EVEN BOTHERED TO REPLY.

This tells me one of two things (or possibly both)

1. They are not interested in my piddly little project, and/or

B. They don't check their email.

Here's a hint Business People: CHECK YER DAMN MAIL!!! If you can't be bothered to check and answer your mail, DON'T POST A GODDAMN EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

I'm not the only person on the planet that refuses to play the Facebook game and if that's the only way you're prepared to communicate with potential customers, shove your product up yer ass!

And if Option 1 is the reason you didn't reply, at least ACKNOWLEGE THAT YOU RECEIVED MY MESSAGE and just tell me you only work with contractors or whatever. Being ignored really pisses me off.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Yep, I emailed Deep Blue Watches through their website about one of their models before I was going to buy it but it's been over a month and no respones; subsequently, I've decided to hold off on the purchase.

If you're not willing to answer potential customers' questions, you're not going to get my business.

I had the same problem with USAA insurance when I was looking into switching.

They never answered emails or phone calls, so I gave up. If they won't talk to me when I'm trying to give them money, they definitely won't talk to me if I have a claim.

Even worse is when you already have an order in with the company, and you are wondering why it has not arrived, well past the promised date. Crickets from email, for some companies.

Look on the bright side, Paul. You're weeding out the unresponsive businesses before you spend any money with them.

Yep, see the "You ship me the wrong part, and I have to pay to return it? Grrr." thread, for more of that.

I recently did some business with a fairly large holster maker and had a problem with the order.
They did not answer their phone. They did not respond to email.
If you are going into business, hire people or make provision to communicate with customers. And lots of businesses now blame the Covid for their lack of communication. As if my cooties will leap out of the phone or off the computer screen to infect them. Cant staff during the scamdemic? Close the doors and shut it down. But dont take my order if you cant answer the phone or email.
If you are a one man shop or a small operation, I can see slower, less effective communication. But a large, successful business? No excuse for bad communication.

OTOH, there’s Amazon. So big, but responsive nonetheless. An email to:
jeff@amazon.com
will receive a prompt reply. At least that’s my experience. Maybe part of the reason that Amazon is so successful.

Absolutely true. You've got a problem with something you bought from Amazon? PM them and it's answered and fixed immediatley.

Feel your pain, OP.

The EXACT reason a potential landscaper lost my business...he stopped responding to me and I summarily found someone better. $2,000 job for now with future business on the line. Not communicating with me will piss me off faster than anything. Probably a blessing in disguise...

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

I needed a new jack.
Really wanted the Pro Eagle but had a few questions.
Sent an email and unanswered. Not buying a $500 jack from folks who can’t respond.
