Not to mention the stereos cranked up to 11. Rarely classic rock, and everyone can hear it a block away except the rider.

Just the other day while sitting at a light I heard a motorcycle, somewhere. He was sitting beside me in my blind spot, a position all drivers in Kentucky seem to prefer. If was to, like so many I see lately, turn right from the left lane I would not have known he was there aside the noise.
I don’t like noisy pipes either but cyclist need everything possible to try to get a little awareness from the average semi-lucid, uninsured, driver concentrating on their phone screen.

Finally, someone gets it...

There are idiots in all aspects of our lives, soccer moms who drive looking at their phones with their kids in the car, BMW drivers who think ever street is the autoban, Ricers with fart box mufflers, and yes some bikers have extremely loud pipes.

If you ride long enough you will see people look right at you and yet not see you. They will make left turns right in front of you, whats best, just crash into them or lay the bike down and try to have at least a little control of your future. Like the guy who ditched in the Hudson, a real long shot but it was a better chance than just crashing...Yes there are idiots in all walks of life...

They don't. Most people don't NEED anything more than a Toyota Corolla or Subaru Impreza and NO one NEEDS a motorcycle. (A whole lot of people want them though.)

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Nobody needs a gun with more than 6 bullets....

I get the dislike of the loud pipes,

Hhowever it's not HD that are the worst it's the monkey fucking a football sport bike racer wannabees with $2000 Asstropoovic pipes that shreek so loud it will blow out your ear drums that are the worst.. HD loud pipes are quiet compared to these riders.

Louder pipes have kept cars off me that were moving over into my lane right on top of me, motorcycle horns are not that loud, but people to react to the louder exhaust.

As for the loud aholes at a stoplight revving the engine, the make of the motorcycle isn't relevant, Douch bags ride all kinds...

On my street, it's not motorcycles, but pickup trucks. I just assume they are compensating for something they lack.

At a BMW motorcycle rally a while back a few ladies were wearing T-shirts that read "The louder the bike the smaller the penis". I guess it could apply to trucks as well.

Exactly. You don't need loud pipes, you want them. And that's alright.

I agree give tickets for noise pollution and don't forget those shrieking leaf blowers! My friend and I were sitting on her porch enjoying our coffee when two different lawn crews showed up at two of her neighbors. Two mowers along with 2-3 weed eaters fired up all at the same time, it was awful. Then rather than use a broom (they don't use brooms anymore) they fired up the blowers which sounded like little jet engines. We finally gave up and moved inside.

DO you really expect a commercial yard business to use a broom? Should they go back to non motorized lawn mowers too???

Never understood the fascination some riders have with (or even having the slightest notion of being ok with) "layin' it down." "Yeah, I had to lay 'er down." Uh huh. Let's see...you wrecked to avoid wrecking. Ridiculous.

Laying the bike down is not having a little control of your future. It's giving up and turning your future over to physics. You have a much better chance of controlling your future with the tires on the ground.

Yes, those are getting seriously obnoxious also, especially the guys with diesel pickups with trucker pipes stick up above the cab, and then they add some kit to it where it'll blow extremely thick black smoke out of them! First one of those I ever saw was over near Athens, GA a few years back, but they're starting to show up here in north Alabammy now...

Me? In quiet neighborhoods, fuck yes use a broom and just leave most of the grass clippings where they are rather than blowing them out on the street. If they feel they MUST use blowers be considerate and use battery ones that are not nearly so loud.

Modern 6hp gas mowers aren't so obnoxious and IMO battery ones would be appropriate doing small yards in tight developments. But lawn crews that trailer in 30hp stand-on, seen their better days, loud ass, mowers, are simply inconsiderate. To them it's all about them, hell with what others feel. No different than loud cars and motorcycles.
