The VA hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana is making national headlines after they temporarily replaced flags representing the branches of the military with the Gay Pride flag.

The VA acknowledged the controversy, but defended its decision to temporarily remove the Service Flags.

“Due to limitations in the number of flag poles outside our VA, the Service Flags were lowered temporarily,” a statement read. “Rather than take one flag down temporarily, it was determined to lower all the flags so as to be equal.”

The Gay Pride flag was only scheduled to fly for a day to “signify that we treat all our veterans equally.”

“We are flying the flag that represents and honors these veterans as a display of solidarity and respect for their service,” the statement read. “We all serve this nation.”

Dozens of readers weighed in on the controversy at DisabledVeterans.org.

“Personally I find it very disrespectful to all Veterans to fly the rainbow flag at any VA facility. It has no place being flown at any Government building or facility,” one reader wrote.

“I never ever think any Military Service Flag should be taken down in order to fly a rainbow flag,” wrote another.

These days it appears Americans are expected to pledge allegiance to a very different flag?

Private entity, fly the gay flag high. Govt institutions? Fuck no, with a side heaping of FUCK NO!!!

One more reason that VA healthcare needs to be abolished.

Provide every retiree and those with service-connected disabilities a card that pays for private healthcare. Shit can every employee of that bloated and ineffective bureaucracy and turn every VA hospital into an inpatient mental health facility.

Come on-you don't really think the docs, nurses and techs at that hospital-the ones who provide the care to the vets, are the ones who wanted that flag raised over the hospital, do you?

I have said for YEARS that the whole VA so-called medical system needs to be unceremoniously deposited in the shitter!!

Give every veteran an healthcare ID card that is good at any hospital/medical facility in the country. Sell off all the VA facilities and use the money to pay for real medical care given by people who care about the vets!

My youngest grandson was medically retired at 60% disabled. The VA has been fucking around for several years now, trying to figure out if he should be at 100% due to his PTSD issues which resulted from physical abuse by 3 NCOs.

At one point, his mother drove him 120 miles to the Richmond Va facility only to be told that she would have to bring him back as the doctor was overbooked. This kind of shit went on for months.

Another example: After spending all day at the Richmond facility, FIVE (count them 5) so called doctors all agreed that he needed a certain medication. BUT NOT A FUCKING ONE OF THEM WOULD ACTUALLY SIGN THE NECESSARY FORM TO GET THE MEDICATION! And, it continues to this day!

Why wouldn't the US Flag represent gay men and woman?

This is a direct result from no one in federal government service being held accountable for their actions. We've seen it time and time again. No matter how large or small the controversy, no one in charge ever gets punished. At the most, a low level drone in the Cincinnati office gets reprimanded. Until the day comes where we start firing people, taking their freedom, and money, this foolishness from your federal government will continue.

The whole "not a big deal, it's a stupid flag" is just a symptom of the why. No one is afraid. They can do what they want for their own personal agenda, because each and every one of them is special, and is a SJW. The person at the VA that hatched this plan is likely gay, if I had to guess, and this is more of this campaign of "just wanting to be equal" until they find out being equal, normal sucks. And then they want to be special.
