Headed to work this morning on single lane road and had a real slowpoke in front of me, like 15 mph below the posted speed limit. I know you aren't really supposed to do this but I saw a turning left lane before a light and quickly made my move in front of him.

Well, that sure woke him up because he drove 1.9 inches off my bumper for the next 5 miles until he turned off. Eek

I really don't get this, I never will.

I’ve done the same thing before. I also have had the same reaction. People who never learned to control their emotions.

Amazing how they'll wake up after you pass them.

Almost as if you interrupted their screen time.

Most - nearly all - the roads around here are a cast iron bitch to pass on. A straight piece of road with a clear line of sight is a rare thing.

Add to that the number of elderly drivers that can rarely manage the speed limit, much less actually look in their rear-view mirror and see the line of traffic behind them and you get a pretty frustrating mix.

Now throw in two more factors: 1.) A shit-ton of traffic so when you DO have a place to pass, there's almost always something coming the other way and 2.) The assholes that speed up in passing zones so you can't go by without REALLY nailing the throttle.

I've gotten to the point where if it's clear I give zero fucks how fast I have to go to get by assholes like that. Actually kind of fun in the Vette and I'm sure I've had more than one fist shaken in my direction Big Grin

The bike was fun too, didn't need a lot of room to go by on the FJ...

They do it on purpose. Make no mistake they know exactly what they are doing. They are such miserable pieces of shit…they had out just trying to provoke someone. When you react, they get to get that anger out of themselves on you. There are just so many miserable people out there that have no life.

Those drivers (and riders) feel they have the right to go whatever slow speed they choose and they own the lane therefore it's their destiny to lead everyone behind them.

The rest of us refer to them as the ADL; Anti Destination League.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Powerless ninnies safe and secure in their vehicle acting out their fantasy of dominance over everyone else. Likely won’t look you in the eye if face to face.

Same with people in the passing lane with no one in the lane next to them. They would stay in the passing lane forever but as soon as you move to the right lane to pass (yeah I’m aware) they will immediately get over.

I do not agree with... but understand that some drivers are oblivious. Those who choose to be indignant or even mean, however, are the worst. If they speed up when you pass, brake check, or tailgate, it's a sure sign of anger or control issues.

Some of it is the sheep effect. When they're in front, they have no one to follow, and so they poke along. Once you're in front, they have a leader to follow, and follow they do.
